Please Recommend Some DS Games
« on: July 25, 2006, 01:20:18 pm »
I have just bought a DS Lite (Black  8)), and am looking for some new games, I have the usual list Steve mentions to look out for, but would appreciate some more specific recommendations. I'm a bit of a retro fan, and so bought Ghouls n Ghosts, the Sonic games (I love platformers) and Street fighter2 for my GBA, and am looking for some DS games with that kind of feel to them.

Have you gotten New Super Mario Bros., Hunters, and Mario Kart DS?

The DS game I've spent more time with than any other is easily Metroid Prime Pinball. It has about 5-6 tables, with boss fights and mini games. Pure fun and it comes with a free rumble pack :o! Metroid Pinball Metacritic Reviews

Also, hurray for the Black Adder!

I've started a new system for getting DS games. At least I would if I had the money to toss on 'em. Basically, it entails taking a list of DS games that I haven't bought yet, closing my eyes, and randomly touching a pen to the list. Whichever game is closest is the next on my Gamefly rental sheet. Like I've said on another thread, it's very hard to miss good games on the DS. There are simply so many.

Also, even if you have Mario Kart Super Circuit, the DS version is better; it's the best Mario Kart game ever. And based on your love of Ghouls 'n Ghosts, I assume you like a challenge: I'd recommend Trauma Center for that. No, it's not like the other games you listed, but it will challenge you. The fact that it's an awesome game is only icing. :)

You might want to try out Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, I;m about half way finished and it is freaking hard.  Especially with the gold Medusa heads....

Just bought this game pre-owned... love it :), its a great game, and i'm not scared of a challenge, so hard is good. Thanks for the recommendation.

(Does anyone know when the next castlevania is due for release?)

Hey, If you want to get good souls, your gonna have to level grind and thats really the only bad thing sbout the DoS game.  It's fun, I love the music and it's a great game to get, so I'm glad you got it.

Got trauma center a week ago or so now.  It's lots of fun and more of a challenge than I thought it would be.  It's a good game too if you just want to play for 15 minutes and accomplish something.  May not be so good to play in the car though since you use exclusively the stylus.

It's fun.  The online can take forever to load sometimes.  But it's fun.  When you get it be sure to check out the friends list at the top.  So far there's only 3 of us.

It would be a moral sin not to pick up Phoenix Wright, Advance Wars Dual Strike and Brain Age. Those are just too much fun..
