OOC: Rein of Tera
« on: July 23, 2006, 02:47:34 am »
This is going to be more of a collective story idea than a RP
we will put the story together here and post the completed story in a
different thread.none of this is happining yet and may change before the story is posted.
this is my basic plan for chapter 1

 Chapter 1 dark tide rising
This is going to be the S.W.U. rise to power. The fuffel have started cloning the Necromonicon
and have reingeniered the nanosuits captured at the battle of Hina.

The S.W.U. are building an armada. The Fuffel empire put most of its resources into the construction
of a superweapon, but it isn't nearly enough.
(need input from the rest of the S.W.U.)
so the S.W.U. invade several colonies for resources making sure to jam all communications of each planet
and that no ships leave the system to warn the rest of the galaxy.
(need people to volunteer to have their colonies  destroyed for this story)
(Remember you won't get reinforcements and nobody will warn the outside world)
(any maps , tactical info or drawings you provide of your people in battle will help make them last longer in the
story)

once they gather enough resources they finish their weapon.

This massive weapon fires a neutronium pellet the size of a ball bearing but with the mass and gravity of a small moon at its target. it opens up like a flower and snaps shut when it fires. once this weapon is complete the real battle begins.

this is just the overview I plan on adding a great deal more details to this story before I post it

Glad to see this finally up. And yes he has OOC approval to back engineer Naucean nano suits.

What's with the wings? I hope you're not going to claim it allows them to fly.

There will be pictures later, but just so its clear the ViS will not be doing much frontline stuff, but they do regard this as a handy way of seizing some new planets so they will be nominally helping the SWU.

yes it allowes them to fly short distances, but it is mostly for increased maneuverability and weapons storage.

Fit KOR males average around 450 lb, I don't think they're gonna be doing any flying. XP That said, smaller wings may well be useful for denoting commanders from the rest, though this is possibly a tactical gaffe and painting a bullseye on the command structure.

The suits produce antigravity fields or zero point energy fields to reduce the users weight, the power supply
is the only limitation to how much they can fly just be glad the Necromonicon are too big and heavy for wings.

Hang on, I have an idea. In a metal ship, the wings could use some sort of magnetic field type kajigger to allow a sort of levitation.

I also was thinking that the nanosuit would hook up directly to the users nervous system
increasing reaction time, give the user the ability to see infred normal spectrum and ultraviolet,
and upload tactical data directly into there mind. But that might lead to someone "hacking into there brains"

The wings are for stearing, plus they just look cool and that was the main point of puitting wings on them ;)

i'd like to join this thread.  the Kindurans would definitely

1. be aware of what was going on
2. see it as a threat
3. start hit and run attacks against the SWU ships attacking the planets/bringing home swag

I'm going to stay away from whatever the argument is here(surprise surprise!). I just want to say that the whole rp wank thing seems a rather ill conceived term. The only other instances of wank I've ever heard are wanker and wanking off, and the word itself more strongly invokes images and thoughts of the latter. There's just no part of me that's interested in thinking about anyone doing that sort of thing with technology or magic or any of the other little sub categories entailed.
There is a method to my madness. That method is in and of itself quite mad, but it is method nonetheless.

I made this an OOC: thread because I knew there would be an argument.
but I expected it to be on the neutronium shooting super weapon.
now can we get back to the main story. We need people to make up collones
That will be invaded and destroyed, I want as many drawings as possable
Remember communications will be cut off and ships will be intercepted so
they will be know reinforcements and nobody outside the system will findout yet.

What kind of supplys are you looking to steal? The Tortullakeet have very limited tech, just their ultra-glass spaceships transport vessels and agriculture machinery to help out the USR. And the Gryfon only have one planet, but will sell you anything you need if you just ask.

Don't forget the Ghulos, too. The Ghulos don't like uppity power mongers.

The Squillisk would probally send more snack packs to the Torpal.

The Graspargh would fling doodoo at the S.W.U. and maybe bite them.

I think the Kangorians could have a small part in this. Maybe one of their planets gets attacked and they join the Torpal in fighting you guys. Of course they wouldnt be the universes hero or anything. We'd be like the wacky sidekick :P

Lets get off the pudding tangent.

I guess our first victims will be a Tortullakeet colony, Kangorians Colony , a squillisk Colony and/or a Ghulos Colony.

a little tactical infomation on these planets will be helpfull too.

Home, the Tortullakeet homeworld, is an agricultural planet, littered in feilds of crops. The Tortullakeet have become very astute in genetically modifying plant life. They also have amazing glass technology.

If you can invent some reason to steal from the Tortullakeet, go ahead. They won't try to stop you. Try not to kill too many, they're harmless socialists.

If The Torpals fight The SWU, the ViS will be against The Torpals, pulling O.T.H.E.R and CAB into it, whilst USR and DUP just get crushed on the sidelines.

The S.W.U. will go to the tortullakeet homeworld to capture some genetic scientists
to engineer some plantlife to feed the necro clones.

it will probably be best if this is a small scale stealth mission so it doesn't start a war yet.

DUP wont be crushed, we'll probably hang on the coattails of a stronger power, while being careful not to be totally annihilated by the superpowers that could destroy us in one blast from some big ship that they have 20,000,000 back at home. So we'll play a part, just not a major one.

The Kangorian colony of Rashkuur, one of the newer worlds conquered by the Kangorian Empire, it seems like an empty planet with small outposts. But to find the true nature of the planet you must look deeper than that. Underneath the surface of the planet is the Kangorian Empire's premeir prison/torture facilities. The planet is covered by thick forests all year long with a cold winter for 4 months.
