You'd think it'd be relatively easy to allow eggs to be customised. However what stages of evolution use eggs? Is it only the first few exclusively or can you develope a sentient race of egg layers?

I'm pretty sure every level of evolution lays eggs, at least the one in the Demo did.

1) We've seen no hint of translucent creatures - sorry. Knowing a bit about this sort of thing, it would be kind of difficult to do without looking stupid.

2) The reproduction was just two of the same creature croaking loudly while randomly turning and taking short steps through each other. Plus the classy music, of course.

3) The violence in the game was actually remarkably disturbing - the audience as a whole shifted uncomfortably when Will killed the little creature and started to consume it, bite by bite. If he's going for teen, he'll probably have to tone that back - at least the actual eating part.

Oh, sweet gorey life like eating! I'm not sure I could handle it if things in a game where like they are in real-life, you know with blood and bits an pieces being eaten. It's just crazy to think that something could be like that! Makes you wonder why Animal Planet shows aren't rated [R] doesn't it? Who here has never seen a lion tearing into a good piece of meat?

Who brought up translucent creatures? *looks around a bit* craigp are you starting to endulge your own creativity  ;)

Someone mentioned making Interstellar Vehicles (Besides your UFO) in a different topic. What are some thoughts on that?
Mummy, why am I short and cuboid shaped? Is it a result of millions of years of evolution which have taught us that this is the best shape for survival.

Sadly enough, I was thinking that too... guess I wanted some optimism...

Always look on the bright side of life....

Seriously though, I think it'd be cool if the UFO could carry more than iritating enemy creatures. What if we could suck up our own vehicles, head over to an unknown planet, and send them to the planet's crust for a nice dose of hostile takeover. ;D

Now that's something I can see in-game. An Interstellar Vehicle? Not so much. ;)

But whats stopping the creatures from fighting inside the ufo?

Other space vechiles are kind of iffy. If their were we can guarantee other species can use them.

I made the example in another thread about the sims... when you play the sims you are god... in order for it to be equal the sims would have to build their own houses.

Granted they can take care of themselves but they will not do things like get a job without help.

Taking that to spore you are again god, in the sense that you get the spaceship, not the AI.  I think theres been a focus of equality between the player and AI, in the past this has never been the case.  Perhaps it's the RTS Lite elements that have sparked this.

As I've said it would be cool to see some random ufo (with no powers) up in the sky sometimes.  Perhaps something funny like the (species) are monitoring you and maybe one of your civ gets sucked up for laughs No harm done).  Remember his games have humor too.

I for one don't think the AI will ever get a spaceship like wee get, if they do it will be for humor like:  "A ufo has crashed into your ship! Hope you had insurance!"  Then you go along your way.

The universe is YOUR sandbox, the UFO is the ultimate sandbox tool, not the computer controlled players.
I survived the flood of 2008 and all I got was this crappy homelessness.

The AI should atleast get Interstellar Vehicles that are similar to the UFO. Just for the fun of fighitng something in space or defending your planet.

I was wondering if perhaps the UFO was more customizable, as in could I make one that emulates the actual space shuttles used today, or maybe even an x-wing or something. Not just a "flying saucer". And also, why are they called UFOs?  Aren't they identified to the creature that built them?  If we only get one, can we name it ourselves? Or maybe even just write on the side with a paintbrush tool or something?

It is my understanding that the UFO will be fully customizable, as any other vehicle in the game. And as to why it's called UFO... well, think about it. It's brings across exactly what it needs to, and above all else, it's short. Short means memorable, and it sure as hell beats having to refer to the "Identified Interstellar Vehicle" whenever you want to talk about the later stage of the game, doesn't it? ;)

How about the "Ship Holding Intelligent Extrterrestrials."
