The Incredible Tribes RPG
« on: July 19, 2006, 06:28:39 pm »
Our tribe had harsh times throughout the winter, our 50 members were tired and hungry. It was almost a sign of hope as the first sunlight broke open for spring. Soon it became easier to hunt food, and the women gathered more fruits. However, the tribe council decided that they couldnt live longer in nomadic ways for they had lost too many in the travels along the pathes of earth. Weather made it complicated for them to travel, and many died because of the climate. Therefore we decided to stay on one place. Looking at the situation we had four places where we could settle.

A: In the middle of the forest - Many Animals and Wood, on the downside it rains alot therefore its hard to hold storage
B: On the river - Good Water reserves, fishing, but flooding might be a problem
C: In the mountains - Many ressources, and through colder climate its easier to storage food, but its harder to hunt
D: On the grassy plains - You have some ressources at hand and the hunt is well, but it could be harder to defend from enemies

OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

C - Pheer the Mountain Klan!!!
I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

C Wins

After several nights of questening their place to stay they decided for the harsh mountains. They thought that they were already used to cold climates and that it would give enough protection from enemies, at least for a while. Once the travelling band of people reached the mountains we soon began gathering wood to build the first huts. Some parties went out to hunt and got lucky rather quickly, this was considered a sign of goodwill by the gods. Explorers of the tribe soon discovered different places of interesst. There was a cave on the northern side, then they found strange silver rocks in the East, there were other huts on the southern side, and there was a big pond in the west. Since they had only few members they had to decide which place to explore first.
A: Go to the Cave
B: Observe and study the silvery rocks
C: Visit the other Huts
D: Go to the lake
OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

it's probably worth investigating potentially radioactive materials if it gives us a bargaining chip or something that would better our relations with the southern tribe.

D, huts mean people and this could cause a problem because of our low population. The lake is the safest bet, in my opinion.

B it be then

As we send out some of our wiser men to the silvery rocks we were waiting for an answer. The men soon came back with samples of the rocks to study them. On the first day they looked at them really close. on the second day they threw them and chewed on them, one of the men lost a tooth. On the third day they came to the conclusion that they found a material stronger then wood or rock. But wed have to find a way to process it. In the meantime we build some huts for the population.

On a different edge some of our people have been fighting over an act of thievery. Apparently Philbert stole a spear from Sindartha. They came to us to solve the problem.
A: Punish Philbert with death
B: Let them solve their problems individually
C: Behead them both
D: Punish Philbert by letting him live as an outcast for 1 month (noone may interact with him during that time)
OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

I would vote A, but i feel we need to value human life more (IE, we need to see our own people as vastly superior to other people) so voted D.

I guess D wins

After the leaders had thought about the two people and their problem they decided for Philbert to be punished. He should live outcast of the tribe for a month (this would mean he could still eat with them but couldnt interact with anyone). After two weeks of his punishment he came to the leaders crying asking for mercy. His mercy was granted but he would be observed closely for the next months. This set off a numbers of incidents that created laws in out tribes society. These unwritten laws (as we did not have writing yet) were the following: "Human life must be valued. Human possessions must be valued. A human may not die of hunger." Those were teh first three rules. Many followed in the next years.

On other behalf there was a breakthrough with the silvery rocks. One of the firebuilders placed a ring of rocks arround the pile of woods, and it seemed that one of the rocks was one of the silvery ones. The rock melted and became liquid, then after the fire was out it became hard again. This made us realize that we can shape these rocks in ways we want if we put it in the right shapes. We can make rock shapes that resemble one of the following:
A: Spearheads
B: Hammerhead
C: Axehead
D: Arrowhead
