Star Trek XI
« on: May 31, 2005, 07:27:32 am »
Apparently they are making a new one.  The thing that will be different is that it is not based on any of the series, but will have a totally new ship and crew.  I acutally like the idea, not having to connect it to a series really frees up the possibilites.  It is an odd number though, so it can't be that good.   ;)

Yeah I too would like to see something fresh in the series.  They could end turning that crew into a show anyway :P.

There used to be a cable TV (sex in the city type) series (hosted by the guy 'mulder' from X-Files) called 'Red Shoe Diaries'.

Perhaps they can get Kim Catrel (Sex in the City, Star Trek VI? VII?) to host a series called 'Red Shirt Diaries - Post-Transporter-Stress-Disorder'

I hope we will see an interesting ship rather than the same old saucer and engines.

Very true, The Voyage Home and First Contact were deffinatly considered the best ones.

The real question is how they're going to deal with "special" data.  10 was a major dissapointment for me and I hope this rectifies some of the badness.  Or we could have a Deep Space Nine movie; I'd see that.  Maybe twice.  -leeman

I heard that it's going to be produced by Bermaga again (Jolene Blalock called Berman & Braga Bermaga on a Con I attended recently :D) and well....the Enterprise cast was not happy with them...the fans are not happy with them....we'll see :D
But they won't WRITE the story !

At least that was the last rumor I heard before:

Looks like there is not going to be another movie in the near future....

It is a pity, esp as the story was co-written by Spiner...that man is just great, his panel at the con was fantastic :D

Q:What was it like to play Data, Dr.Soon and Lore at the same time or Data and B4 at the same time ?
A:You know....it gave me the opportunity to work with my favorite actor !
Well...what can I say ? It was like.....swimming in a rainbow with a thousand angels !

LAMO I just love him :D

10 was not so bad.  I would say it was on par with 6 and just under 2.  Now 9.  9 was just utter crap.

eh.... I thought 5 was ok.  3 and 9 were deffinatly the low points of the movies.  At least in 3 they blew up the enterprise, no one expected that.

Best
4 and 8
2, 6, and 10
1, 5, and 7
3 and 9
Worst

For me, the best begins and ends with....

KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

OK, the NextGen movie with the Borg wasn't bad, either. :)

The low point was probably the one where the original cast was off looking for God... both for a sucktastic script and the fact that they were really showing their ages badly.

You mean Star Trek 5: The Final Fronteir.  I actually liked that movie, a lot more than most people.  Now 3: The Search for Spock.  Now that was a bad movie.

I actually like Star Trek: The Motion Picture best.  I guess some people were turned off by it being a sleeper, but that's the price you pay for being 2001-inspired.  I just wasn't saturated enough with the 2001ness of 2001.

2001.
