Those who love to dig up old topics will know that there have been several topics like this, but I dont think that any of them were for gaming related podcasts, and come on, enough necro-bump-mergers. :-\

Maybe not a merge, but this should be in the podcasts section, Don't you think? Say the word and I'll move it there.

It would not be a necrobump in my book if you had a genuine reason for bumping it.

Okay well might as well move this to the Podcast section.
And PatMan, the deal is is that I dont /want/ to bump a previous topic, since it annoys me when its done with other posts.

No one else has any other podcasts to contribute? Im sure there are more Ive yet to discover.

Not sure what you mean, but the previous similar posts are over a year old and they are not necessarily focused on gaming related podcasts. Lets stop this discussion and move onto the podcasts! Although I'm sure Ive listed enough to keep anyone occupied  :P

Alrighty!

Have you listened to the GameSpot podcast? How is it?

I have always been tempted but I am a tad wary of GameSpot.

I actualy really like gamespots podcast (The Hotspot), as well as their "On the spot" weekly online show. The guys at gamespot are a bit corny sometimes; but they all have character, and talk about things intelegently while sometimes making some witty/corny comments. But Its defently worth a listen if you have any spare time.

1up's stuff is also pretty good, but you will notice that the guys will argue alot and have very strong opinions on some things, but are also fairly witty and interesting to listen to. 1up tries to be funny in alot of their online video shows though, and it doesnt work.

Yeah, Gamespot's is pretty good. It doesn't really have any "insider" stuff like Steve does, but it is very entertaining to listen to, especially a couple of weeks ago, when Jeff ranted on about Duke Nukem Forever. That was hilarious!

Oh, and On the Spot is great. It's live every Thursday at 4pm PST, and they give some good demo's for unreleased games. I think one of the games they had last week was God of War II.

I am not on good terms with 1up so I will not be listening to their podcast.

I can't believe I forgot about yours ADP, having just recently listened to your podcast. I'm going to add all podcasts people mention to the list on my original post. I'm just listening to your new podcast right now.

I've also added AdamVGR's podcast on VG-Reloaded.com

I have one too. Though, it's less "newsy" than the others and more snarky--as the blog posts would indicate as well. However, if you can give up 3-4 minutes, the ones called "GameStore Confessions" are pretty funny--and you can listen to them in a flash player right on the site:

Do I get to pimp my own podcast? A few of us do a podcast for www.GameZone.com. We just started doing it a few months ago before we went to E3. We're still early and improving the show each week (it's been a busy summer). It's a bit hard since the freelance staff for Game Zone is all over the country.

Direct link:
http://www.gamezone.com/audiofile.htm

FYI, GamingSteve is my favorite podcast, and his show inspired me to get a podcast going for Game Zone. I don't get nearly as many exclusive interviews (my only one is with Al Lowe of Leisure Suit Larry fame), but Game Zone is a large site, and the other full time editors get some good interviews.

Pimp your podcasts as much as you like  :D. As long as it talks about games in one way or another.

As long as we can mention others, I will mention mine as well. I do a weekly podcast that has been around for a little more than a year called Short Attention Gamer. We talk about games from the perspective of those who love games but don't have as much time as they may have once had to play. Check it out if you get a chance.

Im turning this thread into a Podcast Megalist!
Ive added quite a few more links to it

The list is pretty damn huge, guarenteed to take up any spare time you might have.

Of course, if you have any more to add, dont be shy!

Mabye I should do some sort of colour coding... like pointing out the best podcasts in the list, etc

I /will/ regularily update this list.

Next Generation Podcast:     http://podcast.next-gen.biz/
Gamers with jobs:     http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/
Escape Radio:     http://www.escapistmagazine.com/radio/
Game Addict Hotline:     http://www.gameaddicthotline.com/

Im thinking about removing
GameLife podcast:     http://www.gamelifeshow.com/
(It sucks)

Virginworlds.com podcast, focused purely on MMOs. Comes out every week without failure, and Brent sometimes does special midweek shows. Think of Gamingsteve, except only MMOs. This is a small, relatively unknown podcast with about 800 regular downloads, but you wouldn't know that from the quality. The website recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, but the podcast hasn't been going on for the whole duration.

The Widget. "Games, Tech, and Whatever." It's currently undergoing some major changes. They stopped doing the podcast for about a month, but now they've decided to do a series of podcasts with different hosts from different locations that just come out whenever they can. The ones before the change were absolutely hysterical, and the new ones aren't half-bad either. I imagine once they get on their feet and get into the groove again, it'll pick up in quality to where it once was. It's pretty well known, I'm surprised it didn't make the list. I believe they have about 80,000 downloads.

GamersHell.com weekly podcast. Comes out every week, without failure (this week they're taking a break, though). This is very light on discussion, being mostly scripted. It reports gaming headlines, new releases, and contains game reviews and other nifty stories now and then. It's fairly short, always falling under 30 minutes. It's very funny, and well-made.

Thanks Devoid. Ive finished "colour coding". Instead of colouring green/red for good/bad quality podcasts, im just not going to even include podcasts with poor quality.
Basicly all of the podcasts on this list are of quite good quality, surprisingly. If you were to actualy subscribe to all of them (which I actualy have), you would have more then enough listening material  :D

Yes this podcast is seriously awesome.. if you like MMOs and don't listen to this podcast, you are really missing out on high quality content.  Anyway, yeah definitely check this one out soon.

Im not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean put the podcasts that others (and that I) have mentioned and put them into the list on the first post of this topic? Thats how it is.

One that I forgot to mention is the Firaxis podcast, released by the developer of those wonderful Civ games, and anything with Sid Meier's name attached. Their podcasts come out monthly (file this under "sparse"), they're not very long, but their focus is on game development. The quality is very high, and they're hilarious. There's only 4 out so far, but they're all worth going back and listening to.
