Passing the time
« on: June 16, 2005, 11:07:44 am »
Okay, this whole waiting-for-Spore thing has driven me nuts.  Especially since I used the screenshot of the planet as my wallpaper, all I want to do is play it.  And then I keep wanting to go play a similar game, but then I realize that no game like Spore has ever been made before, and so it's really quite pointless.  So does anyone have ANY ideas about any games/whatever that might satisfy me and help me to pass the time until Spore arrives?

I think he means Impossible Creatures.  Which I picked up because of Spore and I'm enjoying a lot.  Even if the creature editor is a hojillion times more fun than the rts parts.  I've been avoiding the singleplayer portion and multiplaying with my little sis and we have a blast  ;D

Yea Black & White, Civilization and Diablo are great games, i must have owned civ. 2 for 5 years and still play it occasionally. Same for Diablo 2, i just play it online with my freinds and it is more fun than many of my new 'better' games.

You can even evolve into an intellegent Wombat. :P

Also an online discovery channel one. I loved their lemur to human one but can't find it. So atleast i found a similar survival game where you are a baby t-rex trying to gow up to an adult

Consider Animal Crossing for the GCN and soon the NDS.

You could also make some concept art for creatures, transports or building. That way when you start you have a set of thinsg you can choose from or go back later too when you run out of ideas (which i think will be hard to do with Spore, runing out ideas that is :)).

Or you could just view this forum all day or the offical Spore website and wait for new stuff to appear.  ::)  ;D

Yeah, I go to the official site about 3 times a week, and this forum around 2-3 times a day.

When you go to their site, do you watch the opening every time? I do. :P

Home of the Underdogs
www.the-underdogs.com

An abandoneware site filled to the brim with games. You'll probably find something there that can keep you occupied for awhile, and by the time you finish with it this topic will be full of 100 000 more ideas. I recommend Starflight.
