The artPad gallery
« on: June 21, 2006, 06:41:05 am »
I thought this would be a good place to show off anything and everything you've created using artPad. For those, who have never heard of it; it is an online painting program, where you can watch the whole painting progress from the beginning. So mini-movies are possible, too.
Here's the link: http://artpad.art.com/artpad/painter/ To save, you have to click Save and Send or your painting will be lost forever.

Here are some of my creations (and yes, my real name is Elina):
The one made using only black and white
The one that is supposed to look like it has some kind of an idea
The mini-movie no-one understands
The girl, who (if using imagination) looks a bit like me
The Happyland

And my Spore ads (also found in the Spore Ads using Artpad! -thread):
Spore ad 1
Spore ad 2

All paintings, mini-movies and comments are welcome! (except the nasty ones ;)[well okay, they're welcome, too])

Some really good stuff there - I wish I was good with artPad. I didn't get the movie though.

The eye from the begining is watching... something (use more colour!) which is apparently sad because it looks like it's ready to tear up at the end.  But I honestly have no idea whats going on in the middle. At first I thought someone won a race  then it looked like they were on fire, then I thought they were throwinbg flowers down to the victor but it looked more like torches because it looked like the other person burst into flames too. So I obviously have no idea whats going on in the middle there.

Well, actually you do have a pretty good idea... I think I'll just explain the whole thing.
At first the eye is watching what is going on. And what is going is: There is a pile of books (or something) burning, and people are throwing torches at it. The first guy is running and throwing a torch. The second guy is terrified, because he has something to do with those books (and no, he isn't on fire). There are other people watching at the back and some are throwing torches, too. Then it goes back to the eye, and if you look closer, you might still see a reflection of what is happening.
And I didn't bother using colors in the middle, because it gets laggy after some time and I wanted to concentrate on the eye.

So... I think you got it close enough. I will be getting into your great mighty special award right away tomorrow one day in the future. Edit: I have now sent it.

And please post some of your work, too. I'd really like to see what the other guys here can put together. It won't be a really good gallery, if there is only one person's artwork available.

Something I did while listening to Rammstein

I think it's pretty good for using a touchpad on a laptop while sitting at the bus stop using hijacked wireless internet from UF.

Yes, I believe I can. ;D I could scan some (of the best, of course) and host them somewhere... When I'm not feeling too lazy.
I should actually get back to real painting. I need to convince myself (and everyone else) that I'm still good at it.

And you do realize I'm starting to sound a bit like this? ;) But of course it isn't about poetry, now is it?

I have discovered through dint of effort that I really suck at artpad and all other forms of mouse-based drawing. I can never hold the mouse in a straight line when moving slowly. It's totally different to real-life drawing; I wish I had a scanner so I could get a decent pic of my Icthian and stuff in the Arcadia thread up.

Well, maybe some day. But I'm only 13 right now (soon 14), and I still have a lot to improve. And I do dream becoming a real artist one day. But I also realize it's probably never going to happen, and I will just keep it as a hobby. But I can always dream...

You just said what I've always wanted to hear. ;D

Quote from: Great Distance
Well, I really don't. I'd just always want to stay 13 (and when I was 12, 12, and 11,11 etc, etc, etc...) so that everyone could always say: "Wow, you're great at drawing, are you really so young?" Or be otherwise amazed of my age... (Talking about forums and such, where people can't really see you.)

That's from "How old are you?" thread.

Eh?
It clearly is a sort of field. There are two trees and a hill in the distance, the large white things is obviously a lake

Well, it wasn't actually even finished. I just thought it was. So, here is the final version: http://artpad.art.com/?j1kg6v1lt2lg It's much better now, so you should clearly see what it is. And Krakow Sam was correct, there's a field, a lake, two trees and a hill. And also a bush in the corner.
