Pat why don't you like the aloha forms? I like the idea of a reskinned, retyped Pokemon. Not sure it's as useless as the mega evo gimmick at all, I think it adds more to the world
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

I think the problem is the gimmicky nature of it

I mean formes have been around since D/P. What Pat should really be mad about is Z-Moves.
No way dude, you're trolling me.

This.

I mean formes have been around since D/P. What Pat should really be mad about is Z-Moves.

Don't misunderstand, I think useless alternate forms and shiny Pokemon are pretty retarded, too. And I forgot about Z-Moves, but now that I remember, yeah, they also suck.

Too much gimmicky stuff. Too much lazy stuff. Too much retconning of stuff. Oh hey guys, we uh... we found twelve more forms of Eevee! Who knew!? :|

How many Pokemon will there be once these new games come out? 800? 900? And how many of those Pokemon are scrub/filler? That's what bugs me. Meanwhile the game mechanics are improving but it is clear they'd rather add more Pokemon to the roster than polish up the gameplay and make things better. The best change when I went from Red to Platinum? EXPshare worked more logically. That's about it.

Hyped for the new games. Still think all the new Pokemon are retarded. But that's why I build my teams with the Pokemon I want.

what do you mean? They changed the way Exp Share works in X/Y, did they change it before that too?

Yeah, EXP share was tweaked a few times.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Experience-affecting_item

Quote
In Generation I (called Exp.All), it shares experience gained from battle equally between all party members, but reduces the amount received by the battling Pokémon. They also gain stat experience shared equally between all party members.

Quote
From Generation II to Generation V, it is a held item that shares experience gained from battle between Pokémon that participate in battle and the holder. If the holder also takes part in the battle it will receive 75% of the experience, while the rest will receive only 25%. The holding Pokémon also gains all EVs (stat experience in Generation II) that would be gained by defeating the opponent.

I thought they generally improved this item as the series went on.

oh right, I thought you meant Platinum had introduced some particular change

I actually totally forgot it used to be Exp All. Weird.

We'll have to disagree on the new pokemon.  Mud horse and rugby monkey are awesome.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Ohh I see. That was how I worded it, sorry.

To me it seemed like Platinum was the one that made the change, but that's because I didn't play any of the games between Red and Platinum. Take my silly complaints with a grain of salt. I'm not as into Pokemon as you guys. Was playing other games.

Also don't care for most of the new Pokemon, as usual. But thankfully I can just not use them!

Aside from Tony the Tiger, this crop of new pokemon is great.
Not a winner anymore.

I'll give you this: the Pokemon that have been announced for Sun and Moon are leagues better than the lineups we've gotten from some of the other Pokemon games over the years.

Lol coming from someone who doesn't seem to enjoy them enough to finish most

I'm still not sure how anyone can be mad, upset, or knock it against them that they're adding more Pokemon, the whole thing was basically so they could make every conceivable thing a pocket monster so kids imaginations could come to life. And they could make billions from it

Yeah, the game's tagline was gotta catch em all, not check out our awesome core game mechanics.  So of course they crank out more to catch with each game.
