And yet if you tried to talk to all these plebs catching pokemon on their phones, they wouldn't know the difference between an IV and an EV.

EVs are a cancer which should have been hacked out of the pokemon franchise a long time ago. Discuss.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

I think you got your secret, obfuscated values confused and hate the wrong one.

EVs are the ones where you fight eight thousand Hoothoots so your pikachu gets a grossly distorted special attack stat or whatever, right?

IVs are just spinning the wheel of fate when a new pokemon egg hatches.

Seeing people all over playing this game. Crazy.

Also my hometown (which is pretty small) is in total chaos. Red, Blue, and Yellow are going at it like crazy. The biggest point in town, the brewery, as of a couple hours ago was under team red control with a level 800+ creature.

Full disclosure, Ingress was also very popular around here so it makes sense that GO is also.

I was out watching sports at a bar tonight like a loser and the parking lot was swarming with pokemon.  I guess it makes sense that since the game is based on Ingress, areas with more traffic will have more activity.  It just seems counter intuitive for the subject matter.  I'd expect the undeveloped wooded area near my apartment to have more pokemon than a buffalo wild wings parking lot, but the woods is a dead zone.

There, none.  I caught some from inside the bar between fights, and sitting in my car before leaving.  But on the way out I saw six or seven guys trying to cross the street at a red light, all staring down at their phones.  I can't say for certain that they were playing, but it's a strong possibility.

I have a picture pf probably 40 people at a nearby park. 3 spots next to each other all had incense

Got myself a gengar. Only 170 CP though. Bar down the street is a gym that's changed hands a lot, averages a 600 CP or so. Tons of people playing this it's pretty awesome

Do Pokemon really only show up where there's activity? I figured it was just kind of based on luck and your own movement

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

No idea, all I know is from my own small, anecdotal experience and a post I saw on the internet somewhere.
