I think rebalancing Pokemon was the idea behind Mega Pokemon, although that didn't turn out so well. And you can't remove any pokemon because the one you take out will be somebody's favourite and they'll leave a flaming bag of poop at your front door.

A new Colosseum-style game would be cool though. That was a full-on compatible RPG game that changed most of the formula.
Not a winner anymore.

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

If you just wandered around and caught pokemon normally it wouldn't be any different from the normal games.

The "double battles only" rule and limited selection of pokemon made it a very different game despite having the same mechanics.
Not a winner anymore.

A Colosseum-type game would be cool. But it has to be balanced.

Do we have any thoughts or expectations on pokemon go?  I still don't get how that's supposed to work.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Not a chance! If you want a legit Pokemon mobile game it'll probably only ever come out on the Nintendo handheld. For better or for worse.

A Colosseum-type game would be cool. But it has to be balanced.

The "balance" issue is an odd one because honestly looking at all those pokos some of them are just gonna suck. A Spuckle shouldn't be able to beat a Gortigar in the wild it's just silly.

But honestly the universe of the game has all the tools to address that issue. The whole point is that by training and breeding pookers you can transcend their natural weaknesses. If there was more to training than just "kill trashmon until you level up and pick the best moves" (oh and by the way only fight these specific mons because there's a semi-hidden mechanic that's a huge pain in the ass you need to use to optimise your beasts) and if there was more to breeding than just churning out a million eggs until you get a Shmuppo with a Borderline nature that allowed you to take pretty much any species of wallet abomination and make it strong and useful then I think the game would be more appealing to me at this stage.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

Or here's the same video but pitched for people who aren't illiterate man-blobs.

Why does Nintendo of America even exist? What purpose does it serve having an American team when there's already people translating it into Spanish anyway?
Not a winner anymore.
