I just hope they make EV training easy. At this point, its just unfun farming.

You'll have to excuse me, as I haven't played a Pokemon game since Ruby. What's EV training?

If you beat a pokemon, your pokemon gets one stat up in that pokemons highest base stat.

For example, when you beat a pokemon who's highest base stat is attack, then you get a point in attack, I think is the gist of it.

Am I correct.

No, I don't think it raises the actual base stat, though I could be wrong. It just gives the stat 1+.

Though I'm not entirely sure how those calcium/iron/steroids things work anyways.

If you need a good pokemon site for explaining these things, try this site.

EV training actually limits uniqueness but its still irritating of GameFreak to make training so hard.

IVs make each pokemon unique it was supposed to be a hidden value that mysteriously made pokemon have difference in stats despite being the same species/level/gender and anythng else. EVs are to make it look like they level up different depending who you fight. For example defeating a Geodude grants 1 Defense EV. From memory every 4 EV points in you earn in somethng (like in this case defense) increases how much that stat in gains during level up.

While grinding to level assume you fought 8 Geodudes earning 8 Defense EVs upon the next level up if you leveled up via Rare candy assume you would have gained 1 point to your defense stat. Well with the EV points you will gain 3 points to your defense on level up.

A pokemon can earn something like a total of 256 EVs Each individual stat can have a max of around 120 EVs. While the whole point was to make it seem random how your pokemon were gaining stats at the end of the day people quickly found out about EVs and which pokemon give how many EVs for which stats and trained to min/max teams.

False!

Rare Candies don't activate EV's. Only natural level ups do.

If you get your pokemon to 100 via Rare Candies you must put them in your PC deposit and withdraw them in order for the EV's to take effect.
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

What you mean false? My whole point was comparing the lack of EVs gained from level up from a R.C. compared to leveling up through battling.

Right. And leveling up via rare-candy does not activate the EV power-scaling.

Oh. Right. Dude you need to put a comma there. After 'level up'

Sometimes I have to remember to try to mentally punctuate Cobra's posts.
