Well for starters, the new version will not lose the save when the internal battery dies.

I think most of the old G/S carts have already passed their expiration dates. Mine did.

Mine hasn't, my red version hasn't either.

I did however have a friend that couldn't save, but his Blue version fell on water so it probably screwed up the battery.
That happened to me as well. It fell in the wash, so I was probably lucky that it had any semblance of working at all.

Only Blue, Yellow, and Silver still work for me. :P

Kinda pissed me off when I realized my hard earn pokemon just disappeared.

You'll never know why.

I want my Gizamimi Pichu :C

Can't get SS until October. I hope the Pikachu-colored code give-out will be something permanent or at least will last for a few more months.

You realize the pikachu coloured pichu is for Diamond and Pearl?

It ends on Thursday.

I however, have a spare to give away.

Don't have that game, and I thought it was for both. :S

Oh well, I guess I'll have to survive without it.

Currently working on a Porygon-Z.

EV training it for 252/252 Speed/Sp.Attack
Ability: Adaptability
Nature: Timid
Moves:
-Tri Attack
-Ice Beam
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt OR Hyper Beam

I worked my ass off to earn enough coins at Voltorb Flip to buy a Porygon. I bred the hell out of it to get a Timid Porygon with Trade (which turns into Adaptability when it evolves). I've got plenty to spare, so if anyone wants one... feel free to trade me something I don't have for it. :P

Alrighty so I am going to battle my friend whenever we both decide to beat the game.

Im too lazy to IV EV right now so im just sticking to random wilds. Here is what I think my team will be

Typhlosion
Blastoise
Togekiss
Tyranitar
Sandslash
Ampharos

I know he will have

Dragonite
Feraligator
Red Gyarados
(Maybe Charizard or Arcanine)

So hows my team look? Recommend and good move sets?

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Hopefully your Ampharos will have a powerful electric attack. That Feraligator and Gyarados can be taken out by that. Charizard/Arcanine could be taken out by Tyranitar/Sandslash if it has a powerful rock/ground move(no ground for Charizard). Dragonite will be easy if your Blastoise knows an ice attack like Ice Beam or Blizzard(I prefer these attacks for dragon types), but you would have to careful of any electric attacks from it. Maybe Tyranitar if it had a dragon attack, but the Dragonite might know a water move as well. You can tell I love having super effective on my side. :P

Do you think you will use items?
Example: Quick Claw, Berries, etc.

Anyway, I have been loving the Mom saving thing in the game. She buys all sorts of berries and evolution items.
I got a Metal Coat and a Water Stone on the same day.

You'll never know why.

Bah! Went down to the only shop in town that sells games, and it took the lady at the counter almost five minutes just to tell me that the two copies of Heart Gold were all they had. Guess I'll have to head down to the city soon...

If they had Heart Gold you should have got it. The game isn't that different I got my self a copy of Heart Gold (although i did have the choice between the 2).

Go Cyndaquil.

The reason people get SS is that the legend from HeartGold is useless...

It depends, though.  If you do get into trades a ton, having HG means that the exclusives in your game will be much harder to find.

I prefer the look of Ho-oh to that of Luigi. If its because of some advantage Luigi has, then I suppose one might prefer that version.

I actually still have the original Gold tucked away somewhere, although its been over a year since I've last played it, so I'm not sure if it still works.
