I got HeartGold myself. Was at the Store with a Friend twenty minutes before the store opened.

Started with Totodile. Only in Goldenrod right now. I've been taking it easy considering it's finals week.

My Friend Code:
Name: Nick
Code: 5242 4114 4274

I'm not transferring any high levels over from old games. Playing through the right way... but also going at an easy pace. It's finals week afterall.

Hah! I taught that Miltank in the Goldenrod gym how it's done, sent out my HootHoot first to get rid of the first pokemon the gym leader had, then I let Miltank come with it's nasty stomp and making my pokemon all fall in love with her, so what I did was use Hypnosis with HootHoot, then called Togepi while Miltank slept and used Charm a bunch of times, it's stomp was so weak that it was harmless, finished it off with Quilava :D

Really my strategy for Miltank or anything else that happens to be of Normal type is much simpler.

Go fighting pokemon that's at least 5 levels higher.
Fighting pokemon that's 5 levels higher used hardest hitting fighting type move it knows.
It's Super Effective.
Thanks for coming.

I didn't have any trouble with Miltank... it never used rollout or attract. All it did was stomp. My starter killed it off.

Currently 7 Gyms completed. Taking it at an easy pace. My party has been poorly designed, as Electric attacks have an advantage over my party (so I taught Forrettress dig).

Party order by lvl of what they just happen to be at right now:

Togetic 32 (Fly, Extrasensory, Yawn, Charm)
Forrettress 31 (Rapid Spin, Bug Bite) *soon to teach it Stealth Rock and Earthquake*
Feraligator 31
Crobat 30
Nidoking 30
Sandshrew 6 (HMs. Cut, Strength, Rock Smash, Headbutt)

That Miltank beat my whole team because they were all males and it was female, so attract really pissed me off, my pokemon wouldn't attack and its stomp was taking a lot of HP, Togepi really saved the day :D

I always keep restarting my Pokemon games until I get a female starter. That I can breed a truck load of them as soon as I reach the day care center. Next step trade them all with people seeking starters for anything else I want.

Oh no, anouther pokemon game.... Must. Not. Get!

... At 6 in the morning :D

I'm picking this up today. I didn't know it came out so soon.
Should I just bite the bullet and get a new DS while I'm at it? I have the old school DS fat. I mean 1st one old. I was thinking of buying a lite (screw the DSi)

Is it worth it though? Any thoughts?

$130 isn't too bad.

If your cool with not having a slot to play GBA games then the DSi isn't too bad but I got the DS lite and think it's great one day I may even try and palm the phat off on someone.

If you got the Lite version you can transfer Pokémons from GBA games through Pal-park without using another DS.

Ok, so I was in Goldenrod, battling Whitney. I get to her Miltank after pwning Clefairy. ... I send out Sentret to heal Quilava. STOMP. It faints. Wooper. STOMP. Drowzee. STOMP. GASTLY. STOMP.
WHICH IS A NORMAL-TYPE MOVE. ON A GHOST TYPE. GASTLY FAINTS. WHAT THE HECK!? Pidgeotto, my second strongest. ROLLOUT. Quilava. DIES.
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?

Togepi is the answer, and a pokemon that can put Miltank to sleep, look at my strategy a few posts above.
