RULES FOR POSTING

*Rules are subject to change if deemed necessary*

1.   Only TheNecromonicon may post Chapter beginnings, in order to keep the story style flowing, keep the plots moving in the few pre-planned directions, and to oversee the project as a whole. Chapters will begin every so often with a recap or a regular TheNecromonicon post. If you wish to participate in the thread please stay on top of postings.

2.   Anyone may post an addition to the story as long as they speak about their own creatures’ position in the story and what they are doing. Rights are reserved solely by TheNecromonicon to talk about any race only in chapter beginning posts, to progress or recap the story. No posting about other players’ species actions unless it is in:
a) communiqué style
b) alliance/trading/decision making
c) visual account of an event occurring to another species through your species eyes
d) with the species’ creators permission, verified by the creator as a private message to TheNecromonicon.

3.   The character of Nemesis is off limits to use by everyone but Jack Zetter and TheNecromonicon, to maintain his air of mystery. The only time Nemesis may be mentioned is in a reply, if he has contacted you first. Nemesis will play a very important role in the story and any non-approved post involving him will be asked to be deleted.

4.   This thread is meant to be fun and allow many different events to unfold, built by the community. Adding plot twists with your own character is encouraged. However, due to the sensitive nature of the story it is imperative nothing go too far off track, to ensure no ones’ species is obliterated without their permission, or other such turns of event. ANYONE caught spamming or placing information irrelevant to the thread is subject to trial and possible dismissal from posting.

And so it begins…

THE NECRID DISCORD
Part I
Chapter I

Skip, Skip, Skip to Your Doom

As the Necromonicon fleet traveled through the vastness of space, they encountered a large array of galactic phenomena, and many populated worlds of primitive organisms to consume. The sentient races they encountered mostly fell with ease, and their technology was adapted to the Pod Ships: FTL engines, sensor technology, new forms of armor to increase hull strength, tractor beams, teleportation, and EMP shockwave generators to disable enemy ships power and shields, providing easier access for attack capsules to penetrate other ships hulls and deliver their deadly payload. This caused every pod ship to become deformed and unique, a collage of technology and skins. Ships were constantly launched from the home world Abbadon, and the Necromonicon salvaged any technology they could to increase the strength of their armada. By the time they reached the outskirts of the former Caarnth sector, there were an estimated 500 000 Pod Ships, and the Necromonicon foot solders numbered into the billions. The entire outer rim had been stripped bare. Nothing was left. Civilizations had crumbled and oceans had boiled under the might of the Necromonicon herd. But they weren’t done yet. Their story had only just begun.

A Wexxian probe left over from the Halcyon War floated on its orbit through the former Caarnth sector, running low power scans of the Mirnodu system. It had passed this way many times in the last few years, recording and updating new data on planetary conditions and stellar winds to be sent back to a terminal on the Originator station, “manned” by an unusually reserved Wexxian (for the time being, let’s call ‘him’ Nemesis). As he puttered about, Nemesis eagerly awaited the day he would achieve his dream of ruling the galaxy. Ever since he was young he had hated the government, and CAB in general, and had been plotting for quite awhile as to overthrowing them. He had been an integral part in the design of many navy starships and was given a position in the Central Control Room on the station. Using his position he submitted a request to the Wexxian government to begin research into lethal weapons for the ships. However, the government rejected the proposal; on grounds the Wexxians had no need for such defense systems with alliances as they were. They could only conclude he’d fried a primary circuit. Sitting at his terminal he vowed to make everyone pay for their stupidity and naivety.

Just then, he received an anomalous reading from deep space probe 73-Zeta. A large mass was detected several million light years away, near the small Lermiun colony on Vekkra 3. Nemesis ordered the probe to investigate. What he found nearly blew his hard drive with excitement. As the probe approached Vekkra 3, it recorded the following:

A fleet of 18, 160-kilometer long bio-mechanical ships was orbiting the planet in a grid formation. Each ship was launching hundreds of 20-foot long pods into the atmosphere of the planet. Thousands of large, armored creatures began to seethe across the planet, destroying everything they came into contact with, consuming anything that moved. The Lermiun city fell quickly, buildings were torn down and the streets became lathered in blue blood. The space station orbiting the planet exploded violently and bodies of both Lermiun and the new armored beasts drifted out into space. The probe calculated that at the rate of destruction on the planet, it would become a barren wasteland in under a galactic standard week.

Nemesis’ clawed metallic hand griped harder around the data pad he was holding. "Interesting" he thought! "A species PERFECT for war and destruction!"
This was exactly what he had hoped to find! "Such potential so many possibilities... yes, they are certainly suited for my plan!!!" he turned to the door to the corridor to make sure none of his unworthy siblings where watching him. "Soon I will strike. The pathetic CAB or the OTHER will not be able to stop me... Nobody will!!!"

                                                                          ------------------

Elsewhere, the Lermiuns received a distress signal from an old colony on Vekkra 3, and asked their allies if anyone was willing to spare a ship and check it out…

The Naucean Mothersphere Hina is in the nearby star cluster maintaining its zoo planets when they see a Lermium ship speeding out of nowhere and crash land on one of the solar systems on the outskirts of the star cluster of zoo planets. The Hina sends a Sphere Fighter with medics to go help the crashed Lemurins.

Once on the planet they go to the ships and discover that the hatch is torn open and there are blue Lemurin blood all over. The find a half dead crew member who can barley speak.

Naucean Medic: "What happend here?"
Lemurin Crew: "Run! While you still.. *dead*

Just then there is a scream of an t-boon being killed on the zoo planet by a necromonicon. Before the medics can run back to the sphere another necromonicon ambushed them and slices their heads off them with their sharp scythes, leaving a nano cover suit body bleeding all over. After the head is taken off the suit retracts and falls all due to no connection to the implant. This opens the body to be eattern. After eatting they go to inspect Naucean ship.

Now that the Sphere fighter taken oven they figure out how to use the auto pilot back to the local Mother Sphere "Hina". It is the size of the Sierina (the one the blew up in the war). They get get into the docking bay with ease not even checking to see who is driving. The sphere fighter opens and only 8 necromonicon come out.

This is a scientific ship and not a military one so there is not much in the ways of internal guards, most everything is automated. They easily take out the mechanics and work their way around killing and eatting scientists as they go. The captin finally gets word of this and send out a small police force but they are easily taken out. Their plasma guns have no effect and no nano blades can penetrate their tough hide. Due to the strength of the necromonicon they manage crush the nauceans skulls within the suits. This  breaks the implants, thus retracting the suit and leaving a naked Naucean to eat.

They try to cut off the air to diffrent sectors but they all manage to get through even the toughest walls and doors. Shields are no good and they can even get around energy barriers with ease. They try sending out biological weapons as a last resort which kills one from heavy exploser and already tired from wounds but that still left 7 to get them. Running out of ideas the captin tell them to self destruct the sphere just as they bust through to the bridge. Luckily for the necromonicon one was already nearing the cold fission reactors. They start the count down but it is too late. The necromonicon learn fast and return it back to normal and kill all the engineers.

By the end of the battle they only took out 4 necromonicons, two through only the most tough heat loving microbe biological weapons, one jettisoned into space and one though an exploded manipulator node. After taking the ship over they quickly discover how to run the ship and access the locations of these zoo plants and start feedding on all the other one this sphere was maintining. Thus increading their populations with a mother sphere for war and a buffet of many zoo planets.

Luckily the captin sent out a distress beacon before it was taken over and the local scientist on the zoo planets get an encrypt message that tells them to abandon the zoo planet andflee to get help from CAB.

It is only a matter of time until they stop feeding multiply, fix the broken parts of the mother sphere Hina and go out to take over more allied systems and Naucean occupied systems. Can they be stopped?

(OOC: Isnt the mother sphere a little light on crew for a ship the size of a moon?)

The distress signal travels across several star systems and hundreds of light years until, one week later, it is intercepted by a ViS mining vessel stripping down a dead planet in an unnamed system. The message is badly degraded but some sense can be made of it. It is immediately recognised as Naucean in origin so the captain makes the decision to send it to the homeworld on a priority diplomatic sub-ether channel.
When it arrives some hours later it is given to HEIR for consideration.
//Hmmm. Send it to the Naucean ambassador for the CAB... and in the meantime... these creatures were powerful enough to cause the captain of a mothersphere to send out a distress signal... employ directive 5.//

A high priority signal beams from the huge trabsmitter on the roof of Central Administration. Across all of ViS space colonies and ships are reconfigured for large scale manufacture...
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

(OOC: Isnt the mother sphere a little light on crew for a ship the size of a moon?)

OOC: Yes, most were out on the zoo planets doing research so only about 1/4th of the ship was staffed. The rest were on the planets and escaped. Also it was only half full since this is not a very interesting region of zoo planets. Not to metion this sphere was full of specimines from the planet and not all that many Nauceans. Thus Hina provieded the necros with food on board too.

___________________________

Also if anyone want to know the meaning behind Hina. It is also the name of a real moon in the naucean system which orbits a gas giant.

Hina
http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/oceanic-mythology.php?deity=HINA

Quote
HINA: A Moon Goddess of Creativity and Female Power.

She seems to give rise to all sorts of moonshine, having been the wife of an assortment of Gods and beaming on many cultures.

She may also be HINENUITEPO, who is a Goddess of Death if that is your wish.

In short the Hina is a creative moon goddess... and now become Hinenuitepo the godess of death!!!

Council was in session. The representatives of Alimar's nations gathered in the ceremonial chambers, idly swimming around the outside of the room. There was an air of tenseness here not seen in the days before Halcyon and the peroid of extreme factionalisation that had gripped the Icthian people. For only the second time in the council's history, offworlders were represented in the chambers as sovereign nations and not merely as colonists.
The doors to the chamber swung open slowly and the council's leader swam in. Stately, he drifted to the centre of the chambers and barked for attention.

"Icthians. We return to the second day of council."

An attendant swam up and handed him a viewpad. "As you are no doubt aware, last night we intercepted a Naucean distress signal. As you are also aware, this is virtually unheard of. From what we can tell, this was the Mother Sphere Hina, one of the largest space-vehicles ever built in the galaxy and certainly one of the most fit for battle. That it should be in danger is a terrible sign."

There was muttering from the floors. Someone spoke up. "What of the alien races in OTHER?"

"We have no word from OTHER yet. We are contacting the ViS as we speak; for all we know this could be one of their diabolical plots."

Murmurs of assent. "But should we not get ready? The fleet has recently returned from its maiden exercises and refitting is almost complete; that can be accelerated, of course."

"Perhaps. Shall we mobilise the fleet to cover the eventuality that it is not? All those objecting raise their objections now."

There was silence, and the aide rushed from the room on the signal of the council's leader, carrying the viewpad. The doors swung shut behind him as he left worriedly, and mounting a small jetcraft he sped off towards the fleet headquarters, under the glittering of the surface.

The Wexxian government is sendind out a warning!

\\Attention fellow beings of the galaxy!

Recently a brand new Wexxian Champion was "stolen" from spacedock!

Ehh... We really do not know why, but the one who took it appears to be the 31 year old Wexxian named; Taga-Omnius-Qesto-45 also known to his coworkers as Nemesis!

It is a bit embracing since something like this has never happened before!

We have searched his living quarters but found nothing except a datapad containing scanning results from our numerous deep space probes!

He disabled one and destroyed two guardian cruisers while escaping! His last transmision was: \\I am just using my potential\\

Be on your guard, he may be dangerous!\\

Peskitoriantais

A unknown space pod crashes on the planet of Nairot. While on impact it wipes out a few Peskitoriantais and skids right to the front of the main city gate. The Peskitoriantais leave the homes and buildings to see what the sound was from. They see that the space pod was from a Necromonicon orgin.

The leader of the Peskitoriantais, Kipt, had fury in his eyes because one of the dead Peskitoriantais was his son.
"Gather around everyone, see what the Necromonicon did to us? They have unleashed war onto our part of the universe, and this will not be tolerated. Everyone, get into your space fleet, we are leaving NOW! We are going to the Necromonicons, and we are wiping them out! We have given them many warnings before not to mess with us, but now its their fault. The only thing i just dont know is where they are! Someone scout through the pod to see if there is any tracking or where this has come from."

"I think they are someplace all the way near Sector 3, quite aways away, sir"

"Well then we must get going, huddle up everyone. All Peskitoriantais get ready!"

All the Peskitoriantais rush to the space ships and start taking off, only to find a special surprise on the local planet of Calp.

It is a late hour in Niho, The Urshan home planet. An emergency meeting accrues in the imperial palace.

Minstir of forigen Relations: Greetings honorable members of our empire. We are sorry to wake you all, especially you great emperor but we have just got an important transmission from the Icthian.

The New Emperor: Speak Minster, what are the news?

Minstir of Foreign Relations: The Icthian say that they have received a Naucean distress signal about the attack of a Naucean Mother Ship called: The Hina. We are not sure yet but it seems it wasn't captured by any of the races we know.

The New Emperor: A Naucean space ship? Captured? This is deeply distubing. I was sure those mighty ships are almost impossible to win in battle

Minstir of Foreign Relations: It seems it was only a technological facility and not one of the war ships.

Temporary High General: Sir, this war is lurking again. We must prepare our ships. Another failure in battle is not acceptable!

The New Emperor: Fool! The fact we lost the Halcyon war was a blessing not a curse! Our empire almost fell because of those monstrous creatures!

Temporary High General: I am sorry sir you are right, But who can be trusted in these days?

The New Emperor: Although many new war mongers has risen the Empire would never see war as a solution only if we have no other choice. We can always trust our allies, members of the O.T.H.E.R. Send word to all the members, ask the Icthian about their response and make sure the Auyceliad know as well. Meanwhile try and making contact with the attackers, perhaps we could learn more about this attack from their side. May the empire never see another war...

Several Serlan fades uncloak as they come into view of the Amonos Carrier nicknamed Epsilon. Several minutes later 4 Serlan Pilots are already at attention on the bridge there Serlan Captain watching the panels infront of him. Some of the Panels just showed statistics of this new being however others had actual footage of this formidable foe. The Four Serlan Pilots bowed there heads as the footage of a fade being blown up finally came on. Obviously 5 Serlan were suppose to be standing by the Captain.

The reason for the fades recon was to find a weakness of this new creature. However with the Serlan Planets all quite close to eachother and there Fleets and Armies not as big as the others, they would have to play a defensive role. Another problem was the reclamation of Durl, they would be fighting two battles at once.

"Send this footage to the Council, they will want to set up a defensive wall around our solar system, so be prepared.

(Yep the Serlan are fighting this war too, however even though it will mostly be defensive we will help in any way possible, and as you can also see there Solar System is incredibly small)

Meanwhile on a Meteocolony a small distance away from the attacked planet...

The Meteocolony opens up a docking bay. A probe, about the size of a television lands inside it. A Ryndalian walks over to the probe and opens a hatch inside it. Looking in it sees a small container the size of a shot glass. "It has arrived, finally..." he mutters. "Those Necromonicon shall be of great use to me." The Ryndalian calls a small creature with no apparent features, just a small sphere. 29HwU7 take this to my personal lab for later use. The sphere grows legs and a hand, picks up the container and walks away. Good... The Ryndalian says, walking into another room, sits down, turns on a screen and focuses on the Necromonicon...

OOC: Arent a lot of races a little too aware of what the Necronomicon are doing... I mean if neither the Nauceans or the ViS could identify them or know what they were called, then how can any other races?

OOC: The majority of the Ryndalian race is unaware of this, just a select few know about them, actually only a few know of other sapient life period. I'm not sure if that is how it is for the other races though. If they were really destoring a few million planets like Necro said, I would assume it wouldn't go unnoticed anyway...  :D

Well, I don't know about everyone else but I have a reasonable reason for my Ryndalians knowledge of the event and thats all that matters. I'll let everyone else comne with their own excuses.

//Attention all spacefaring civilisations of this region. Having analysed the meagre sensor information included in the Naucean distress signal we have concluded that the invading species is sapient, has access to advanced technology and is physically very dangerous. It also appears they are not native to this immediate region of space and most likely resided somewhat closer to the galactic rim.
Engaging this threat directly is not recommended for any species with a galactic influence score of less than Major Power. It is recommened that weaker civilisations avoid direct confrontations and instead seek to gather information. Any such information should immediately be shared with both major alliances.//
