RULES FOR POSTING*Rules are subject to change if deemed necessary*1. Only TheNecromonicon may post Chapter beginnings, in order to keep the story style flowing, keep the plots moving in the few pre-planned directions, and to oversee the project as a whole. Chapters will begin every so often with a recap or a regular TheNecromonicon post. If you wish to participate in the thread please stay on top of postings.
2. Anyone may post an addition to the story as long as they speak about their own creatures’ position in the story and what they are doing. Rights are reserved solely by TheNecromonicon to talk about any race
only in chapter beginning posts, to progress or recap the story. No posting about other players’ species actions unless it is in:
a) communiqué style
b) alliance/trading/decision making
c) visual account of an event occurring to another species through your species eyes
d) with the species’ creators permission, verified by the creator as a private message to TheNecromonicon.
3. The character of Nemesis is off limits to use by everyone but Jack Zetter and TheNecromonicon, to maintain his air of mystery. The only time Nemesis may be mentioned is in a reply, if he has contacted you first. Nemesis will play a very important role in the story and any non-approved post involving him will be asked to be deleted.
4. This thread
is meant to be fun and allow many different events to unfold,
built by the community. Adding plot twists with your own character
is encouraged. However, due to the sensitive nature of the story it is imperative nothing go too far off track, to ensure no ones’ species is obliterated without their permission, or other such turns of event.
ANYONE caught spamming or placing information irrelevant to the thread is subject to trial and possible dismissal from posting.
And so it begins…
THE NECRID DISCORDPart IChapter ISkip, Skip, Skip to Your Doom
As the Necromonicon fleet traveled through the vastness of space, they encountered a large array of galactic phenomena, and many populated worlds of primitive organisms to consume. The sentient races they encountered mostly fell with ease, and their technology was adapted to the Pod Ships: FTL engines, sensor technology, new forms of armor to increase hull strength, tractor beams, teleportation, and EMP shockwave generators to disable enemy ships power and shields, providing easier access for attack capsules to penetrate other ships hulls and deliver their deadly payload. This caused every pod ship to become deformed and unique, a collage of technology and skins. Ships were constantly launched from the home world Abbadon, and the Necromonicon salvaged any technology they could to increase the strength of their armada. By the time they reached the outskirts of the former Caarnth sector, there were an estimated 500 000 Pod Ships, and the Necromonicon foot solders numbered into the billions. The entire outer rim had been stripped bare. Nothing was left. Civilizations had crumbled and oceans had boiled under the might of the Necromonicon herd. But they weren’t done yet. Their story had only just begun.
A Wexxian probe left over from the Halcyon War floated on its orbit through the former Caarnth sector, running low power scans of the Mirnodu system. It had passed this way many times in the last few years, recording and updating new data on planetary conditions and stellar winds to be sent back to a terminal on the Originator station, “manned” by an unusually reserved Wexxian (for the time being, let’s call ‘him’ Nemesis). As he puttered about, Nemesis eagerly awaited the day he would achieve his dream of ruling the galaxy. Ever since he was young he had hated the government, and CAB in general, and had been plotting for quite awhile as to overthrowing them. He had been an integral part in the design of many navy starships and was given a position in the Central Control Room on the station. Using his position he submitted a request to the Wexxian government to begin research into lethal weapons for the ships. However, the government rejected the proposal; on grounds the Wexxians had no need for such defense systems with alliances as they were. They could only conclude he’d fried a primary circuit. Sitting at his terminal he vowed to make everyone pay for their stupidity and naivety.
Just then, he received an anomalous reading from deep space probe 73-Zeta. A large mass was detected several million light years away, near the small Lermiun colony on Vekkra 3. Nemesis ordered the probe to investigate. What he found nearly blew his hard drive with excitement. As the probe approached Vekkra 3, it recorded the following:
A fleet of 18, 160-kilometer long bio-mechanical ships was orbiting the planet in a grid formation. Each ship was launching hundreds of 20-foot long pods into the atmosphere of the planet. Thousands of large, armored creatures began to seethe across the planet, destroying everything they came into contact with, consuming anything that moved. The Lermiun city fell quickly, buildings were torn down and the streets became lathered in blue blood. The space station orbiting the planet exploded violently and bodies of both Lermiun and the new armored beasts drifted out into space. The probe calculated that at the rate of destruction on the planet, it would become a barren wasteland in under a galactic standard week.
Nemesis’ clawed metallic hand griped harder around the data pad he was holding. "Interesting" he thought! "A species PERFECT for war and destruction!"
This was exactly what he had hoped to find! "Such potential so many possibilities... yes, they are certainly suited for my plan!!!" he turned to the door to the corridor to make sure none of his unworthy siblings where watching him. "Soon I will strike. The pathetic CAB or the OTHER will not be able to stop me... Nobody will!!!"

Elsewhere, the Lermiuns received a distress signal from an old colony on Vekkra 3, and asked their allies if anyone was willing to spare a ship and check it out…
