Though, seeing as how you can modify the crap out of (or into, if that's what you're after) anything and everything (creatures, buildings, vehicles, plants), it seems within reason that you COULD change things like the fire pits, not just a stock one for land/air (what, flying creatures get FLOATING fires?!) and, at a guess, thermal vents for sea-based ones... but I doubt you'll be able to change them too vastly. Maybe you could be able to turn your fire pit into one of those Easter Island heads with the mouth open, and the fire inside of that... who can say? But that, actually, doesn't sound too bad.
