SCION COMPLEX

For some time this city (Which is on a moon in a place to be determined.) went unnoticed by the larger goverments and such but some strange activity has been going on here. This Complex had an innate ability to bypass all sorts of system checks and such, becoming the "Galatic Black Market", at least of this area. As such not much is known about this place. (Partialy meaning that not a lot is determined, to make room for the ideas of others.)

Being a black market of sorts, the Scion Complex is an excellent place to procure illegal weaponry. Torpals that have deserted the military, in pursuit of a more...entrepreneurial  career often come here, selling stolen torpalian weaponry. Bounty hunters of many species have also been known to stop at the complex, looking for just the right way to kill that special someone...

Nauceans are usually too busy with scientific work to be bothered by such low life places however now and then some rogue scientists looking for sentient DNA have been known to come here. There is also rumor that one of the best chimera fights (spliced hybrids) occur on this moon and is hosted by none other than Dr. Nauvorkean the Naucean mad scientist of genetics. Here is a sample of his horrific abominations of science, the Nazean. A Naucean-Kazean hybrid chimera.

Illegal Food Market

After the halcyon war a few Urshan star systems became independent and rebelled the empire. After a few years most of those were either captured back or destroyed. But still a few of the big ones that had armies did survive. Those rebel colonies were in great economical problem because the empire stopped supporting them and therefore they commonly used the Scion Complex. From some extra frigates, to Urshan robotics. But mainly they sold all of their extra Nuka plants and the Nuka they stole from imperial ships knowing it has a great value in the inter galactic market comparing to other crops.

The station also serves as a recruitment area for some of the more... 'clandestine' organisations of the universe. Many a rogue has found themselves in a smokey back room being presented with an offer they cant refuse.

The Black Diamond gang also has a presence here. The gladiator fights allow the easy attainment of Organs for the black market. They are a powerfull gang on Redhaven and Banaqaq, with ties going high up. they are eager to "Branch Out" inot new planets. They are a great friend of The League of Independent Justices, and make most of their money through selling Drugs, Organs, Assassination, Prostitution and"The Game". In "The Game", a counter is selected from a bag with a number on it. The number will represent a player. This player will then choose a counter for a second bag.The counter could mean enough money to buy yourself out of poverty forever or a ....forfeit. These forfeits can be the loss of a hand, an eye....being pushed into Gladiator fights...anything.
Many an interefering foriegner has been discovered dead on the floor, with the Black Diamond Sigil branded on thier mutilated corpse. You have been warned.

Naucean Drugs

Red Fang Berry
This has been seen before with the great plantions in the new world worked by mostly Jungle Tribe slaves. The quills are very poisonous but it turns out when smoked it has the addictive qualities of tobacco and coffee combine but with the scent of mocha chocolate. It takes alot of skill to get this addictive juice from the plant without being hurt by the poison in the quill. It is smoked using a berry smoking pipe in which is inserted into the nostrils on the top of the head. The nostrils can open and close like a whales which simulates humans lips opening and closing on a tobacco pipe.

Red Olivenuts
These have been used for a very long time by the Hydromanctic Priests. When cooked they turn pink and give off an incense. When eatten they have healing properties and work as a pain reliever like aspirin as well as cleaning out the digestive track like prunes. This effect is known as "the great cleansing".

Turmabegga
This common tuber has been used in sports such as turnabegga ball as well as brewed into turnabegga ale. It has a similar taste as tequila and will make Nauceans drunk. Ironically it also is great as a sports drink when fermented properly (as seen by the Flowit walker drawing). This is the preferred drink at rave/discos during the Modern Age.

Quill Sponge
This is an animal and not a plant but its protective spines are actually contain a sticky liquid. When dried out it makes a light blue powder. This substance is usually rubbed on the oral tentacles. When this is done they are inflamed and get the sense of hot and col as well as great pleasure. After this takes place they usually experience hallucinations as well as "stoned" quality to their behavior. Some Naucean claim it is is a good a sex, but with cravings for food.

Kazean Drugs

The Kazea are not unaware of stimulants. They never had a chemical drug age like we had, but they used natural drugs pretty extensively on and off during history.

Tourlim
Tourlim comes from the Tour plant. The plant "sweats" a lot of sweet Tourlim to attract animals. When an animal comes near enough, the primitive sensory organs on the Tour feels it and sprays it full of spores. Alarmed, the animal runs away, thus spreading the seed to more distant places. The Kazea keep these plants in greenhouses and wear protective clothes when they harvest the Tourlim. Tourlim is a mild intoxicant, much like beer.

Acak
The Acak is a much more dangerous. The blue seed can be ground into powder which the Kazea inhales, giving them a rush which lasts for hours. If the powder is not mixed properly with other powders, however, it's very poisonous.

Bilprin
The Bilprin seeds are swallowed whole. They distort the sensory outputof the eyes, giving the Kazea marvelous hallucinations.

All of these are regulated or forbidden in some way. They also have lots of nicknames.

Detoxicated
I will play a Silverknight Nilobite who is on a holy quest to find "Banehammer" a holy weapon believed to be on the Scion Complex.
http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?topic=4653.0 for some info on Nilobites. The holy weapon is a major Shockgun that is part of the Wararena on the Scion Complex.

nice here is some pop for drugs

venomous plant whose venom is weak but in the causes the tongue to feel a tingly sensation and relaxes the mind but not for continue use

12 barrels, automatic, has a blade, and fire lasers and paintballs, a convenient all around weapon, all gifts from the Anubians enjoy

While Kawenu generally prefer to do business directly from their homeworld, many of the larger companies or mercenary outfits have subsidiaries at the Scion Complex.

The most famous of all Kawenu scientists, Unvtsida, Owner and Lead Scientist of the "Weapons of the Future" weapons research and sales company, has a large and quite popular shop in one of the busiest areas of the city.  He has even been seen visiting the city on occasion to check up on sales and to get inspiration from other merchants and visitors.

Another well-known Kawenu who often frequents the city is Edoa, one of the most famous Kawenu bounty hunters in the galaxy.  If there is ever anything he cannot find back home, the Scion Complex is his first (and usually last) stop.  A little known fact about Edoa is that while, like all Kawenu, he prefers using Kawenu-made equipment, his personal favorite side-arm (nicknamed "Flintlock") is a Torpalian pistol, purchased at the Scion Complex from a well-known Torpal merchant.

Of course, many less popular Kawenu visit the city on a regular basis to look for jobs, equipment, ships, supplies, and anything else they might need.

A corruption lies at the heart of the Icthian fleet command. Unregulated for all practical purposes except for their command by the Alimar council, the higher members of the fleet have been known to sell off hardware, weaponry and ships to bidders. The council and the representatives of the nations and colonies of which it is comprised know this, of course, but no one has tried to stop the practice for fear of partisan reprisals.
At the Scion complex, some impressive Icthian military-grade hardware (occasionally even experimental equipment barely off the test beds) is available... for the right price. Currently sitting in orbit is an stripped-out escort ship, thought destroyed in the Halcyon war. More commonly, simple hardware and weapons systems are available, along with smaller transport and fighter craft.

The Ryndalians have deep ties to the Scion Complex, in fact they are the creators of it. A long time ago, about 700-1100 years ago. (No one knows the exact date) The Ryndalians started a facility for their own needs out of the reach of The Council and Ryndala for a grand underground project. So they set up a trade line on a distant planet, started to gather materials and technology unnoticed and the city on the moon started to grow. It eventually became a massive undetectable Complex and attracted the attention of other races that were in the Black Market Business. The Ryndalians kept who they were a secret from the newcomers so according to most there are no Ryndalians affecting the Scion Complex. At some time about 230 Years ago the Planet the moon was orbiting got blown up and ever since the Scion complex  has been drifting through space. So they wait and gather materials for their project, whatever that may be...

This is the main weapon of the Silverknight Nini-Zhat. Nini-Zhat is rather unexperienced (fierce and powerful nonetheless) and therefore is more open to other races. However he suspects Astrogiants everywhere and is always alert. His faith may blind him, especially when it comes to peaceful individuals. He does not understand them, fears them, and hates them.

come in Anubian colors but can be painted to fit you style,a small manuvrable attack cruiser.although small it comes with two 4 barreal gatiling guns so if you get a large gang in these it can teir threw mediunm defences with proper skill.(think of them as ti fighters anubian style)

The Independant Trade Federation has been taken interest in the upcoming black market of the Scion Complex.
As many Independant Federations they take great interest in the dealing of arms. Allow me to represent u 2 specimens of ITF fire poweR:

zszhkkks's... more questionable inventions

From time to time, the dread xx exile zszhkkks visits the Scion Complex, looking for bits and pieces he can't get elsewhere, crafting things to sell when not furthering his larger scale plans.

Firstly, he sells Psychoactive Narcotic Spray. This substance is derived from pheromones and fluids of many creatures with psychic ability, and distilled for maximum effect. The spray is applied to the eyes - depending on the state of mind of the user, they may either enter a euphoric trance of sheer pleasure and bliss, or a hellish living nightmare - it's all down to the willpower of the imbiber and how they feel at the time. An occasional side effect in some species is that they temporarily manifest psychic power and start a chain reaction effect, hitting everyone else in the area with similar, but weaker effects. The substance is also tailored to be highly addictive, so zsz always has a market for gaining credit with the Scion Complex. zszhkkks also created a substance that will always, invariably give a bad trip, to be used by torturers and less credible individuals...

Secondly, the Shock Nanobots are tiny little robots, though somewhat bigger on the molecular scale than more advanced nanobots. These bots are programmed to wait for an impact, then synchronise with any other bots in the area, then deliver a 90 volt shock to the surface they are standing on. Though on it's own this kind of shock is little more than a nuisance, considering thousands of bots synchronise with each other to deliver a jolt at exactly the same time, the results can be quite shocking to living or machine alike. They are best used as ammo in exotic spraying weapons.

Finally, the horrific-looking Vivsector Drones are every bit as nasty as they look. Though expensive and difficult to make, these anti-gravity bots feature many arms with interchangeable ends, making them versatile as either combat or utility drones. zszhkkks was inspired to make them after seeing Torpal Diadems in action from a salvaged security video - he then set about gathering bits and pieces of these self-destructed droids in the Torpals's wake, being careful not to be caught. He then added his own touch - an organic brain regulating the droid, rendering it immune to hackers or viral programs. Where zszhkkks gets these brains he won't say directly, but if you look hard enough you too will find that certain less scrupulous governments and organisations will accept a goodly amount of goods, services or money in return for a few criminals or individuals "going missing". The bots can even be installed with AI, though even zszhkkks, who is infamous for being incredibly amoral, doesn't recommend this.

A poster found in most illegal food markets

this is a new deadly weapon from anubian labs but was turned down for being too cruel.code named Anubis poison

the poison is injected into the blood stream and on contact kills off blood cells and muscle cells, the poison heads for the heart where it spreads through the body killing all cells,it goes into the major organs and slowly breaks them apart but not enough to kill the victim.the victim is put in horrible pain while his insides are slowly being eaten while it is still alive.

this is all done in around 6-10 minutes depending on size of creature and area of injection, the closer to the heart the better.

this is very illegal but, those who acquire it have a new tool to make people "talk".

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/ScionComplexPawnshop1.jpg

1 Death Drone: Death drones have a number of purposes, none of them having a positive effect on it's targets existence.  Death drones are relatively small(about the size of an Omic I'd say) and can hover in mid air and also fly at a top speed pf 57 miles per hour, allowign them to out run almost anything on foot.  It's main attack is that of it's "stinger" or needle which can hold any type of poison that is placed in the capsule on the back of the drone.  The metal prongs on either side of the needle send out an elctric charge that can deactivate basic electrical equipment and cause harm or knock uncounscious it's victim.

2 Partical Flak Pistol: PF Pistols are outlawed by most governments in the galaxy due to their dangerous and eratic behavior.  PF Pistols hold any number of substances in their ammo compartment.  These substances are taken out in two different directions and smashed together inside the pistol, so fast that it shatters the molecules and some atoms.  All but the front opening of the pistol is shielded from the particles, giving an intense blast of radioactive particles to whatever or whoever the pistol is aimed at.

3 Slerka: This is Slerka himself, owner of the Trade Market.  He is of a mostly unkown race, some aren't sure if he even looks this way due to his customers only seeing him as a hovering holographic representation in his store.  This holographic representation can protect Slerka from any "unhappy customers."  Slerka projects himself as the model salesman and his store as the best place to find the things you never knew you needed, which can tell you a little about his character.

4 Jilch: Jilches are a very strange creature.  Keep them well fed and they'll be quite happy with standing in one place for their entire lives.  They never sleep and don't require exercise to stay in shape.  Why would anyone want such an ugly spikey thing you say?  Well for the sole reason the Jilches are famous for producing large amounts of electricity, so much that on their home planet they are the main source of power.  The Jilch Tank that comes with the Jilch is capable of absorbing 87% of the Jilches total electrical output, thats enough to power your house!

5 Strak Fighter: The Strak Fighter is an extremely well made, speedy, and deadly fighter that's perfectly legal.  It's just that the Strak Fighter has a mind of its own, literally.  You could say the Strak Fighter is alive, it can think and act for itself but thats only when it's on, you can turn it off of course, it's just advised that you only turn it off when it has landed otherwise you might find yourself drifting through space or falling to your death on some alien planet.

Matarissans involvement in the Scion Complex: Matarissans lead the Nodyl business in the Complex, and what is left of the companies work in the lower levels of the complex. Matarissans are also involved in smuggling under the control of the Black Diamond Gang...

If each person could put in how their race interacts with the Scion Complex that would help a lot as well.
Suggestions for this would be great.

We have reached the point that we need a second post!!!  8)

Syrbor:  The Syrbor are a very intelligent race on a quest for knowledge and what better way to get it than get as much crazy junk from the Scion Complex?  The Syrbor have only recently discovered the Scion Complex exists but now with space open to them a greater number of more daring Syrbor are leaving Frittera to make profits and discoveries at the Scion Complex.  So far a Syrbor has already entered into one of the fighting matches and made it pretty far before he was eaten by a pack of Grissacks he had himself brought to the complex to sell.  Another Syrbor has been hired in one of the bars and introduced several Syrbor drinks.  Alcohol has no effect on Syrbor like it does other races, and many Syrbor drinks contain large amounts of it.  One of the highest concentrations of alcohol can be found in Lyba Juice, the juice of a large fruit that produces its own alcohol(in order to prevent disease from harming the fragile seeds when the fruit falls).

Zrahi:  The Zrahi have been around for a loooong time.  They have been a part of the Scion compex for almost as long as the complex has been around.  Zrahi are known to come to the complex selling highly illegal weaponry only to buy more expensive and even more insane weaponry.  What they use it for is unkown seeing as no race has given any record of being attacked by the Zrahi for quite some time.  They are also found in the fighting pits, battling against countless other aliens and even wild creatures or machines.  As of yet only one Zrahi has died in battle in these fighting pits, he was killed by a Torpal.  In the next match though that Torpal fought a pack of Grissacks and proceeded to get his head and limbs bit off  .  (and if your wondering wtf a Grissack is, go here: http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?topic=5417.30 )

No diffrence just that I can't have less than four choices, so... Wait hold on.

Edit: Well I'm stupid, you can have less than four.... nevermind.

Bounty hunters of all kinds you say?
Well that sound like the perfect excuse for the Kawenu to set up shop.
(if the images are not working let me know)

Well thanks to Kyyp and Daxx for the additions, and now for mine...

What will you do?

This is the main weapon of the Silverknight Nini-Zhat. Nini-Zhat is rather unexperienced (fierce and powerful nonetheless) and therefore is more open to other races. However he suspects Astrogiants everywhere and is always alert. His faith may blind him, especially when it comes to peaceful individuals. He does not understand them, fears them, and hates them.
OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

From the book, most popular galactic foods

Roasted Omic - One of the many ways which Omic can be served.

Ingredients

One Omic
Stuffing
Spices of your choice

How to make

1. Find an Omic, you can buy them in the Scion market sometimes and they are usually found on Omix, their planet.

2. Take, still alive (too keep it fresh), into kitchen, chop off head.

3. Pull of limbs, tail can be used for Omic tail noodles, found on next page.

4. Stuff your stuffing into its neck.

5. Cook at 200 C for a half an hour.

6. Remove from oven and spice it up.

7. Serve and enjoy.

Chefs tip - Please remember this food is illegal and should be eaten in secret, but it doesn't really matter, Omics are the only species that care when they are eaten.

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Anubian starts salivating and mindlessly grabs an omic and rips his head and limbs off with his own hands, stuffs him and uses an open fire to cook it,by luck he has a nuka seeds sauce pack at hand for every occasion and begins to feast, finishing he devourers the tails like spaghetti.yum.

i feel sorry for the omic as every carnivore who's ever tasted them wants them for every meal, thier the walking delicacy of the universe.

Incredibly illegal, though. You'd get executed or given a life sentence in prison in most places in the galaxy. I would guess it's even frowned upon in criminal circles such as the Scion complex (even though it might be available for the right price to someone who knew where to look).

The bots can even be installed with AI, though even zszhkkks, who is infamous for being incredibly amoral, doesn't recommend this.

awesome.  ;D

sad,but to keep scion with more items, this is a new deadly weapon from anubian labs but was turned down for being too cruel.code named Anubis poison

the poison is injected into the blood stream and on contact kills off blood cells and muscle cells, the poison heads for the heart where it spreads through the body killing all cells,it goes into the major organs and slowly breaks them apart but not enough to kill the victim.the victim is put in horrible pain while his insides are slowly being eaten while it is still alive.

this is all done in around 6-10 minutes depending on size of creature and area of injection, the closer to the heart the better.

this is very illegal but, those who acquire it have a new tool to make people "talk".

Slerka's Trade Market
« Reply #70 on: July 05, 2006, 06:26:20 pm »
Alright, so I really like this idea for a kind of black market for the Galaxy, so I give you Slerka's Trade Market!  (If you'd rather I make my own thread for this that's fine, but I figure it'd be in the Scion Complex and it's pretty much my submissions for things that would be sold at the Scion Complex)  Anyways, here's today's showcased items:

That's all for now!  If you think I should just make my own thread say so and I might do it, not that I need any more thread to post my ideas and drawings but I guess you can never have too many.  Oh and of course add your own stuff to the Scion Complex!

On the appearence of the Scion Complex: I see the Scion Complex as layers and layers of metal docks and shops. Sort of like Nar Shadda from SW...
Matarissans involvement in the Scion Complex: Matarissans lead the Nodyl business in the Complex, and what is left of the companies work in the lower levels of the complex. Matarissans are also involved in smuggling under the control of the Black Diamond Gang...
Matarissans make my soul cry blood...

Hey thanks!  Had you already posted somwhere about that kind of weaponry?

Now for how my races interract at the Scion Complex

In the next match though that Torpal fought a pack of Grissacks and proceeded to get his head and limbs bit off  ;).  (and if your wondering wtf a Grissack is, go here: http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?topic=5417.30 )

And one MORE thing, as far as the appearance goes I always thought it would be a large city on a barren planet.  The structures would look something like this:

I like the cave one cuz I think the fights between creatures and things and the darkest of the dark deals would be made as far from anyone else as possible.  The best answer would be underground, maybe not neccesarily natural caves but some areas dug out of the ground or asteroid or whatever the complex is built on.

Some Yunimian mercenaries have plans to set up shop at the Scion Complex. Hehe, their motto 'd be "Yunimians for Hire, Just add Fire" seeing as to how they love fire as a present.

Danshu was tired of, well something in his group of ryndalians and abandoned them, searching for a group more to his liking. Danshu found all he wanted in the Black Diamond Gang. He joined up and started to make lots of credits and such. He likes to be the one to enforce the rules and is not afraid to come out and attack someone that gets on his nerves. Here is a pic of Danshu "Persuading" a torpal to pay up. Likely this will end with the torpal losing the lower half of its body.

(If we ever come up with anything that the BDG is going to do then he can be in it.)

haha, I think I see Slerka!  but there's a problem, Slerka is only seen as a hologram in his own shop, but we can just say he has a mobile hologram projector that floats around so he can do business with other shops/business partners without revealing his true identity.  Then again none of this matters if that's not Slerka.

These homemade scion pix makes me wanna put up some more of my own so here you go...
Fighting Pit:

This is a basic fighting pit that's found beneath the surface of the Scion Complex.  Many pits such as this are owned by Zrahi "business men."
1 Guard Post/Guest Balcony:  This balcony serves a double purpose, one for letting guards take care of a situations should a fight break out in the audience and two, giving special guests or a high-paying fan the best seat in the house.
2 Security Gun System:  The security gun system is actually security cameras with a gun barrel mounted above the camera's eye.  This are used for taking care of any problems in the pit and sometimes in the audience, but guards are most effective for taking care of those sorts of problems since the gun system is programmed to distinguish between only a few targets while an audience is full of numerous visitors.
3 Overlight/Teleporter:  This light is truly a simplified teleporter with two light rods placed within it to light up the pit and hide the true function of the device.
4 The Pit:  This is the pit where all the fights take place.  All sorts of fights such as one on one, free for all, team matches, or an intelligent creature versus a pack of beasts.  All obstacles and particpants are teleported into the pit so that the guards do not risk being injured or getting angry and injuring some of the fighters.  This also makes going between matches very quick and efficient.

Now here's a fight that has taken place in the pit, a Zrahi versus a Torpal.  I wonder who's gonna win?  ::)

You might notice that if the Zrahi own the pits why would they themselves fight in them?  Well Zrahi are power-hungry, big headed and battle-loving.  They sometimes like to prove that they are the dominant ones by facing a champion of multiple matches and defeating him.
