Anyone in the faction can invite you (I'm dead atm) by selecting you as a target and giving you a faction invite from the target panel.

Edit: that means you have to be in the same physical location as us, however.

I think you can do it hidden, actually (but don't quote me on that, I haven't tried it yet).
