Darth Vader Reads Your Mind
« on: May 22, 2005, 11:43:24 pm »
Wow.  Amusing.

It guessed what I was thinking both times (a PS2, and a pizza).

He guessed that I had a marker in 28 guesses.
That's pretty crazy. I guess.

And was that the Burger King? What the hell?

EDIT:
I was bored so I did it again.
Damn him. He got it in 18 guess that I was talking about my MIDI keyboard synthesizer thing.

I beat him on my first try - he couldn't guess that I was thinking of a mouse (a computer mouse). But he did get frighteningly close. On his last question he asked if I was thinking of a mouse pointer. Nice try, but no cigar!

I had hummingbird. It asked "is it a bird" and I said yes. I thought he was going to guess different kinds of birds, but then it said he had won.

It seems like a simplified version of the game 20q found at http://www.20q.net/ The game at 20q seems more intelligent and keeps learning. It usually takes longer for more obscure things, but it is much more precise. I'm guessing the Vader game adapts too, but it still seems less evolved. 20q does seem to ask many more totally random questions though. :D

Specific objects do not concern him!

It's not that advanced because it's made by burger king, what do you expect?

Yeah, I like the 20q sim better.  I'm very impressed by it.  It asks questions besed on a HUGE tree of objects that it has adapted to the public's responses.  It's rarely wrong (if you don't screw up and answer the questions wrong).  They also make a handheld lite version of 20q.  It's made by Radica games and can be found at WalMart or BestBuy.  It's really cool, and while not as precise, it does a great job at figuring out generic items... cool party toy for a buncha drunks and it only costs 10 or 15 bucks.

Not much. At all. ;)

Anyway, just thought I'd make mention of the exact same game, but with more depth and a less flashy (literally) presentation. :P

It took him quite some time to come up with "computer"  The 20q one however is in my opinion much better.

Yeah the 20q is alot better.  It asked me all these random questions but somehow managed to figure out I was thinking of Batman.
