You know....now that I think about it, the more it kind of makes sense.  I've only ever posted one race on this board (Rituuk), but I have lots of aliens in my imagination, and the main ones actually do represent me, or an aspect of me taken to an extreme.  For example, the creature I posted here, are tricksters, in the sense of practical jokery.  They do anything for a laugh, and anything is fair game, even upsetting Torpals.  They only take hunting seriously, because they are hunters.  Even in war with death surrounding them, they find or make something to laugh at.  And in a way that's me:  I laugh at everything.  Then another alien (in my head) is really big, and behaves kind of like a gorilla:  peaceful until provoked, once provoked, very pissed.  that's also a lot like me, but to an extreme.  I am a peaceful 'jolly' guy, but if you anger me (which takes quite a bit) I get very angry.  Then there's another alien which is solitary, highly advanced, and goes around the universes checking out systems, uplifting species, teaching them, studying them etc., and that personifies my desire to be alone sometimes and go out and discover new things.  So, yes, in a way these do represent me, though one can just as easily make a creature that does not reflect oneself in any way.

hhmm the Serlan represent me in quite a few ways. Im a martial artist and i try to not get into too many fights although I do enjoy them when they happen. Im quite smart when it comes to things technologically but not really good. So yeh I guess the Serlan are alot like me. ;D

Ooh a fellow martial artist.

Mr. Consideration is a martial artist?!

Well, "the more you know," I guess...

In any case, yes, my creatures do represent me, each one harboring a portion of my combined self. All of them originated from a portion of my personality which I turned into a literary manifestation.

The Terran-Ixians, and to lower extent the Orealyianis, are basically my cheerful, idealistic and sometimes deeply philosophical persona translated into a written or visual medium.

The Nameless, on the other hand, represent all the "negative" and "self-destructive" attributes which I possess.

The Universal Administrators are basically like the Terran-Ixians, but with far more focus on the philosophical and cosmological projections of myself.

As for the Luzonians, they are basically the embodiment of my Malayo-wanking tendencies.

As for the Viri Voltei, especially the original NG one, they symbolize my take on making things as realistic as possible when it comes to mixing science-fiction, science-fantasy and real science.

The others, well, they're not as clean cut, but they also fit my personality, one way or another...

What about you guys?

This is a great old topic. I am glad you bumped it Yuu.

And I still think my Naucean is my totem, or at the very least my mascot.

oh, fun.

the graidient embody a certain Renaissance man ideal, to strive for total excellence.
in some ways the graid were me in some of their early incarnations (back when I was going through my apathy socialist phase. I sucked), but they have changed allot*: they were impartial industrial imperialists. very different from the pacifist philosopher poets they are now.

and their theme is sound, if you didn't notice (all those references to euphony/cacophony and consonance/dissonance)

*so have I

The Vykusi are nothing like me, and are better written for it.  I am not religious, but, they are internally conflicted, which is sorta like me.  The Milika however, represent what I would see as an ideal society, though it has some problems, and coincidentally, their darkest hours during the Milika-Supara War also reflected me when I was very depressed.  The Crystalion are an idea I've had since sixth grade in some form or another, and I never figured their personality until now.

Ironically, the Pentekonterus are not based on me, but on the wierd stuff that goes on in my mind and my reactions to it.
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?

What about me? Return of the Necromancer!

My Kin are relatively new so don't have much of a fixed personalty. But:

The communist philosophy represents my general belief for equality (which often goes astray with my brothers) and their confidence on the surroundings speaks my current *state*...
They like the shadows (they live in tunnels) and have a generally dark and deppresing aura. They are also slow and like food. But I am defiantly not super organized or have evolved from a hive creature ;)
In a game like this you cannot win, only lose more slowly
