Your favourite graphic novels/picture books
« on: May 18, 2006, 03:48:15 am »
What are peoples favourite graphic novels or picture books.  I enjoy the star wars picture books with all the fantastic artworks.  I also like another graphic novel called "Maus", about nazi Germany in Poland, and the characters in the book are animals for each ethnic group, so the jews were mice, the nazi's were dogs i think..etc

Asterix.

Yay! French/Belgian comics are the best. Tintin, Asterix, Spirou, Linda et Valentine, and so on!

I think its amazing how good a job they do of translating Asterix into english. The jokes are actually almost totally different to the french ones, but theyre funny and they always fit the situation. You cant not like something as daft as that.

i just read Akira.

sooo much better than the movie.
I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

That's because the movie only covers about 1 and a half of the books. I wish an anime production group, preferably Madhouse or Production IG, would make an Akira TV series and go through the entire storyline. I mean, they did that with X after the abysmal movie. They would make such a huge amount of money off the thing so long as they kept it respectful to the books.

Go Dog Go, and the Spot the Dog books.

I... don't read many graphic novels.
Not a winner anymore.
