The reason they've been prey is because they haven't changed since all the volcanoes were around, etc, but your right. They do have Fall Out shelters though to protect them against the weaponry, but they can walk out afterwards like nothings happened, the buildings have been purpose built to withstand explosions that powerful.

Well, nukes are a little primitive. These are supposed to be spacefaring species. I doubt a nuclear bomb would actually penetrate futuristic planetary defenses.

I know, but the fact that nuclear hand weapons aren't used in battles much anymore means they are very deadly, they could just run for cover and nuke the battle field.

That and it would destroy the life on the planet XD.

But yes, they don't use nukes as much now, only to protect themselves...
