The Belottrians
« on: May 14, 2006, 03:26:34 pm »
Right, last night I got into my head a creature idea (based on my favourite earth-animal), and wrote up a sporewiki article on it. Basically, belottrians are bipedal mammals ressembling weasels, with grasping hands and snouted faces. They're a bit shorter and lighter than a human, but are just as intelligent. A few pictures here:

I tried to model them after the concept of what would happen if other species developed countries, and separated them into a bunch of factions. All theory of course, but it's fun anyways.

Anyway, here's the article: http://www.sporewiki.com/Belottrian_%28Concept%29

It'd be interesting to see what you think.

Haha! Furry haters indeed. And well yes, it's not too original, but frankly massive 25 legged tentacles with arms coming from thier arses don't interest me in the least (if that's your definition of originality). And besides, you don't have to go crazy to get a cool species. I mean, what if apes didn't evolve to be the most intelligent? What if it happened to be mustelids instead?

As for the headshots...I can't draw legs, so that represents a problem.  ;D

EDIT: Wait...hydro think it's unoriginal? He's the dude who basically stole world history and re-implanted it.../now he's REALLY going to come and kill me.

Actually this thing isn't really a furry.
It looks more like a regular weasel that started walking on it's hind legs.
If it were a furry it would be some weasel/human hybrid abomination.

Regular Weasel but walking upright and sentient = awesome.
Furry Human/Weasel hybrid abomination = horrible

*Jumps around* Haha! You said the forbidden word!

And yeah, I suppose it wouldn't really be "furry" in any case. Thanks!

Sorry, that's me. I veto against this being furry though. It's just an intelligent otter.

how about you look at pictures of weasels on google and maybe find a good picture of weasel legs then trace it or something onto your picture?

Upright and sentient is what makes humans humans...  How can "upright and sentient" and "human hybrid" be two different things?

Btw, awesome creature.

I'm sorry but I've got to agree.
