It doesn't matter than the DS isn't the next Gameboy, it doesn't need to be, but with it's wi-fi capabilities, dual screens, and touch pad I can see it being a lot more "Spore friendly" than other systems. I could just imagine twirling around a creature with the stylus, stopping, adding a leg here, stretching it a little....*drool*

Yes. True. A lot of the DS's "experimental" features would be very Spore-friendly.
Why do you park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?

wait a sec, it just donned on me. Portable systmes have zilch for memory, or atleast not enough to really accomodate Spore. They would have to build memory into the game cart. That might be tricky with the DS. Unless they still used a GBA game cart but with DS info on it along with the additional memory.

DS does NOT have wi-fi capabilities. It has wireless capabilities. Wi-Fi runs only in certain spots that are Wi-Fi hotspots and have wireless network connections. The DS doesn't need a Wi-Fi hotspot, it can connect anywhere, you just have to have line of sight to your opponents, which you don't have to have with the Wi-Fi.

Actually Mika it does have Wi-Fi, that's one of the big new things about it. Nintendo is currently planning to have Wi-Fi hotspots all through Japan where htey will be able to provide demos and other informations for games. Such as new songs for the game Jam with the Band. I'll see if I can't find some links for you.

"Wireless Communication: IEEE 802.11 and Nintendo's proprietary format; wireless range is 30 to 100 feet, depending on circumstances; multiple users can play multiplayer games using just one DS game card" - Official Nintendo Site

I r wrong. ;_; I am ashamed because I actually had a DS and was wrong.

Yeah I've got one too. It's got the Wi-Fi in addition to the normal wireless, i'm still hunting a good link for you. but I'm not very good at this sort of thing. I think Reggy talks about it...

Ga ha! Finnally figured out the right search words for Google. Here's the first site I got.
http://www.gearlive.com/index.php/news/article/nintendo_at_gdc_free_nintendo_ds_wifi_service_03110622/
if you'd like to check out many others just do a search for "Nintendo DS Wi-Fi"

[edit] I'm not sure if you where being sarcastic in Reply #20 or what. You where using crazy lingo

Or they could make a DS cart that was larger and stuck out of the handheld.

No, that wouldn't work. It would be very flimsy and would likely break.

It's why I suggested the nice and sturdy GBA cart.

Yeah, but would they be able to do that?

Beats me, they made a cartridge sensitive to the direction it was tilted *shrug*

Good point. Nintendo could probably make any console or handheld do anything.

No, I wasn't being sarcastic in post #20...hence my posting the link that already had all the info, and said it was Wi-Fi...and your link afterwards being totally pointless. :D
