terrain editor
« on: May 10, 2006, 11:53:21 pm »
just saw the spore demo video, and he pointed at a terrain editor.

Anyone have any idea of what that will do? - make your own terrain?

I assume it would be used to edit terrain, thus the name "Terrain Editor".

It was all there - he was dragging land, creating it, colouring it, raising it, filling planets with water
there's probably more he didnt want to show as well

I don't think it's been shown at all. In the 1up video he was using the UFO's terraforming tools. In the terrain editor, I'd imagine you won't be using the UFO.

It's been shown in pretty much every spore demo video he's done - its the terraforming tools.

The only other thing it *could* be is an editor for the creature editor's test area. But i'd imagine there would only be 2 different terrains needed for that - a land one and a water one with an island....

Or maybe it is a planet editor after all so that when you have enough technology you can make planets out of nowhere and make them orbit a certain star :P

I doubt that considering we can alter current planets any way we want.

I hope we can drag planets around... play with their orbit, drag them to other star systems, etc.
