Finding Worlds In all That Space
« on: May 10, 2006, 03:24:33 pm »
I was thinking about how hard it would be to locate a certain world. I can only hopw that you can name them so you can look them up in a catalougue of sorts to auto zoom there

Ash Nazg Durbatuluk,
Ash Nazg Gimbatul,
Ash Nazg Thrakatuluk,
Ag Burzum-Ishi Krimpatul!!!

Maybe you can use the Sporepedia to go to a certain world.

Take the Thenvij'bix card from your hand, tap two mana, and the autopilot kicks in.

That's my guess.

The mouse pointer will act as a SETI(Search for Extra Terrestrial Inteligence) I can't belive you guys forgot about the GDC video already, he covers it in that.

If you are talking about random rocks in space that you have previously visited then I assume that as the sporepedia catorgorises things by planet it will act as some kind of intergalactic 'favourites' tab.

Hey guys, quick question I had.  In the IGN demo video, when Will pulled back a certain ways out in space, there was this weird ring around the space he had been in, it was pretty large, the black hole was near the edge of it.  Anyone know what that was about?

OK . The sporeopedia is descibed as having cards with information. I think that this will be an easy matter of opening up the desired plantes card and zooming there.

Like others have said, I would think the developers created a way to mark locations/creatures of note in the Sporepedia. I certainly hope something like that is in. 500,000 or so solar systems with an average of 4 planets each is a lot to keep track of.

I hope you can add your own little notes in Sporepedia entries as well, but this isn't as important.

I think that the developers put the Sporepedia there just to taunt you, and when you turn on the autopilot, a guy comes to your house in a helicopter and punches you in the face.

I really liked the Sporepedia being in a stat card system. It looks like it will be easy to use and will looks like a fun way to "re-learn" the known universe. And I guess that means when you manually download something, you get it's card. (If they allow that.)
