« on: May 04, 2006, 10:08:44 pm »
Has anyone else heard these quys? They are fairly big at our school. Irish punk rock, heck yeah. Lots of Catholic refrences, accordion, fiddle, harmonica, and some serious electrical guitar. Ive seen them in concert. Am i all alone?

I've not heard much of their stuff, but my brother likes them, and he's usually pretty good when it comes to picking out decent bands.

Maybe when I go back home I'll ask if I can borrow some of their stuff. Or, I should see if someone here has it.

Seen them twice seeing them again this summer.

Also seen murphys and street dogs.

All great bands
I suggest the Real McKenzies for a canadian band with a scottish feel.

they're definatley my favorite band.  last summer i went to their concert when they came to  my city (grand rapids) best concert ive ever been to.  i just love the blend of irish folk music and punk rock, it somehow fits so well.  one thing thats cool about them is that you can listen to an irish folk album and hear some of the songs they've done, but not punked up.  another great band sort of like them is silly wizard, i suggest you check indo them as well.

if you havent heard, there is a new flogging molly album/full length DVD coming out july 27th.

Pouges and the waterboys are a bit more toned down.
