Revolution's E3 Secrets Revealed???
« on: May 17, 2005, 06:35:07 pm »
I found this posto n Gamespot's forum and I thought it was very interesting. You should read it and tell me what you think...

"I think my brother I stumbled upon what Nintendo is going to do with Revolution. If you haven't seen the "Nintendon" video, you must watch it to see what I am talking about. The Nintendon video shows a brain-like unit that has a "right" and "left" side. The left side I belive is for creating games. And the right side is for playing games. The brain-like unit has the left side of the brain for game creation and the right side for playing games. The unit that Nintendo showed off today was just one part of Nintendon.

1. At E3 today, Reggie showed the game Electroplankton. This game was for some reason singled out for it's music. The game enables the user to create music in a video game. David Hollins (DJ at E3) mentioned that the game has a "rich palette of sounds" . Does this mean that Electroplankton will somehow work with the brain-like unit for music creation in a video game?? David Hollins also says "make the track completely with just the sounds from the unit". I think this implies that music creation can be made with this game. He also says "What am I going to do to make a song for a video game". This is also a clue. Reggie also mentions that Electroplankton "may not even be considered a game". He says "it should be actually be considered a creative tool"

2. At the E3 presentation, Reggie keeps mentioning in the numder 2 along with the "right side of the brain". The 2 sides of the unit (left & right side), 2 billion game titles moved

3. Iwata says "I hope you let me create some elements of mystery to my futher remarks today. Maybe we can look at this as a form of puzzle game". This means that he wants us to looks at the big picture while taking bits a pieces out of what they are saying.

4. Iwata says " The advances in our technology will also relate to areas that have no direct baring on game play" . This goes back to the creation part of the unit.
He also mentions how that quote was a mysterous comment. Clue!!!

5. Iwata says "Our competitors (Playstaion 3 & XBOX 360) have taken time at detail the power of their co processor and their onscreen display....the added benefit of our technical approach with Revolution...every home game machine in history have married a controller to a console and a console to a TV...in the next generation the addition of the Internet....how these 4 elements controller, console TV, internet interact with each other forms a central differance in Revolution design. This tells you that Revolution will not be like other video game consoles. Remember what was shown today is just one part of Revolution. I think this part of the system will be for the Internet and downloadable content. This also suggests that XBOX 360 & PS3 will be showing off how fast and beautiful their graphics are. Revolution will be different . That is way Nintento didn't show any specs of the system or videos of the games yet. They didn't want to be like the other competitors that only care about graphics and not games.

6. Iwata also mentions the "game experience" will seperate them from the other competitors

7. Iwata says "Samas will take you places you've never gone before....The key here is not what you are playing how you'll be playing" This goes back to the 6th example that I mentioned. This was shown in the Nintendon video

8. Iwata says "We are convinced game creation on Revolution can be the most periphery friendly..simplier, faster, and less expensive that any other new system." This means that anyone can create games. The system probably has a dev kit built into it. "The big idea that can prevail over big budgets"

The Nintenton system that is seen in the video is the real thing. Reggie says "We look forward to seeing you on the show floor tommorow and be prepared to let your right brain run wild." Remember the right brain is the part where the games are played. Reggie wanted us to think that the people on the show floor would be seeing Mario Kart DS. But I think Nintendo has something very special to show all of us.

For those people how haven't seen the Nintendon video, I'll post the web site in a few minutes. Check back on this thread in about 20 minutes. In the mean time you should watch the E3 Nintendo presentation to see the excerpts from this post."

You know what? I think this guy MAY be on to something. His logic makes sense.

And you know what? That movie really surprised me. It seemed to be of WAY to high of quality to be something somebody made up in there spare time. You know how much time it would have taken to make that? A lot. Not too mention whoever did it must have had a lot of talent...

...well, we'll see soon.

Not that I'm saying this is what I really think the Revolution will be like, but it's interesting, nonetheless.

And another interesting thing...the Metroid sequence shown on the "On" doesn't look like anything from a Metroid game I've seen...

Nice idea...
I don't know if NintendON is the real deal, but it is a possibility.

If you combine all the fake/concept/leaked info we have on the controller, I think that is the most interesting point.
You use the "headset" thingy to control your view (monitoring head movement), the left "pad" controls the inGame movement (you point at the direction you want to go and press the analog button just a little bit to walk and more to run etc.) and the right "pad" is used for aiming.
This way you could walk to the left, look to the right and shoot something behind you :D
But this only works with 1st or 3rd person view.

I hope they are going to show something at E3, but I'm not that sure if "...later" means tomorrow ;)

The Nintendo On video was faker than a three dollar bill.  It was made by the same guy who did the "Super Mario Universe" video from a few years back, IIRC.

You know how it's supposed to be able to download all the console Nintendo games ever made?  Where are they supposed to go?

Good question. That thing is freakin' tiny...where are they going to fit a hard drive big enough to hold an acceptable  amount of games?

I think you're not supposed to download ALL of them :D
But they will use the 512 MB internal Flash memory as well as SD cards....
I think that is eough memory for games and saves, I mean those games aren't exactly big ;)

Indeed; the biggest N64 games were 64mb, the biggest SNES games were like 8 or 16mb and the biggest nes games were like a megabyte or less.

Why would you have to download all of them if you only want the original Mario for the NES?
