Just as you find it futile to argue with a "brainwashed thrall" so do I.

I guess I wasn't as reactionary and JIHADI on your ass as you hoped. Just do me one favour and read the damn book before you preach your own divine wisdom over it.

You seem really ignorant.

Oh, and what evidence do you have to back that up? Also, how do you know I haven't read the Qu`ran and discussed it with many prominent Muslims? Ah, yeah, you don't.

Islam is a religion of complete and utter thralldom to god, even moreso than Christianity and other religions of that nature.

Oh nothing, except you went a tad quiet when I mentioned hadith and surah. (yes google that now, there you go)
It could be frankie. It could be very fresh and clean. It could be a balloon.

Even more amusing is the fact that you never mentioned them once.

"I would really be interested in what aspect you find utterly "illogical".. do you have a specific surah or hadith? (if you even know what that means)."

Anyway let's get back to the topic at hand. The sheer lameness of this thread.
Unless your joking that is... which I kind of hope so.

All genres have been done to death, what else is new.

Which is why it should be an FPS as they're fresh and exciting. Not only that, but they appeal to kids and we need a larger audience for the game to be any good.

Sorry, simply not true. Besides, I'm sure they'll emphasise the "From the creators of THE SIMS, comes..." bit on the advertising.

I've had an even more brilliant idea! Turn the game into a level-based MMO in which you fight rats and such to become more proficient as a warrior or wizard.

This is clearly a troll thread. But hey what the hell, whatever keeps the forums active.

There is a perfectly huge audience for creative games, and the FPS market is utterly glutted to hell. Sim-games are relatively uncommon. Creative games would, logically, find a much more diverse market than "World War II Episode XXVIVIV: In 3D!", which really only sells to casual-gamer young men and FPS-fanatics. (okay I buy every 4th WWII game that comes out, but that's besides the point)

Besides there's plenty of freaky cool FPS games on the horizon, the bar for Spore in the genre that it's in(whatever that is) has the bar set much much lower. I don't know of Maxis having ever made an FPS, they could barely keep up let alone innovate in that excessivel played-out genre. Simulators is what they do, it's where they excel.

Edit: and I know my Roman numerals make no sense, leave it alone it's a joke. ;)

an FPS involving shooting zombies and demons.

sorry but isn't that like every other game on the market?

And the Simulation genre hasn't been overdone, its actually just overcrowded by a lot of shoddly done "Tycoon" games. (that doen't include roller coaster tycoon. that is a good game. I mean games like Fast Food Tycoon, Cruise Tycoon, Etc...)

Then again, I suppose you're just a diffrent kind of gamer. (The kind that would rather mindlessly shoot at everything he sees and watch all the blood pour out then actually think and plan a little bit.)
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

Just because there aren't a load of horrible simulation games doesn't mean they haven't been overdone.

You just used a triple negitive and i'm a little confused. you mind simplifiing it a little? lol.

Still, a good game in any genre (overdone or not) desirves to be played. any gamer will tell you that. spore will be a good game.

And Demorgora, you're starting to make it wildly obvious you're just trying to get on everyone's nerves and have everyone at each others throats.

Really now. You're making it blatently obvious you're trolling.

Yeesh.  People get a bit too wound up here.  Look, Will Wright has had this dream for years.  I feel it will be a complilation of genres that will bridge the technology gap and show that some seriously fun stuff can be done with procedural math.  If you want a procedural FPS, download .kkreiger from www.theprodukkt.com.  I think that IF procedural games catch on and devs see the merit of it (as this is a launch point for a new vision on gaming, not just another evolution sim), then we'll see those really good FPS games that fit on one CD again.

What about an RPG-FPS.

We'll just take Halo, add alot of boring dialogue, and make the battles really long and boring.

And zombies, of course.
