Description: The
Independence is the Wexxians Flagship; it is both extremely fast and powerful. Without the
Licentia, the Independence is the main rally point of the Wexxian people.
Battle hardened by countless violent endeavors, the crew of the
Independence is the best of the best, to be a crewmember of the Flagship is a great honor for any Wexxian. Although the Wexxians are negative towards violence, the Independence is an extremely lethal warship because of the advanced technology and its skilled crew.
Having served two generations of the
Tagan-Enerva family, as well as having been in many battles, the Wexxian Flagship is well known, respected and some places even feared. The
Independence is a force to be reckoned.
History:The
Independence was built in the early stage of the Wexxian
Age of Reclamation. It was designed specifically to be the Wexxian leader;
Axon’s flagship. Only the one of this kind of ship was ever built.
Although Lord
Axon strongly opposed it, the ship became officially known as an Axon-Class Flagship. He did however manage to change the proposed name “
Fist of Axon” to “
The Independence”
The Axon-class was designed as a frontline command ship. Its task was to lead and control all situations the Wexxians would get involved in. Its first mission was to bring lord
Axon to the
Vii system in the
Grand Union area on a diplomatic mission. Although the mission was a success, the
Independence would later return under less peaceful circumstances.
Before the GU War, the
Independence took part in a great deal of the Wexxians external affairs: Noticeable was the ships part in the prevention of an escalating of the Olympia Crisis. The ship was placed by lord
Axon between the Xometrian and Torpal ships.
When the
Grand Union declared war against the
Protectors Alliance, the
Independence defended the allied holdings on
Olympia together with the allied forces, while all but the Omics evacuated the planet. Later, The Independence spearheaded the Alliance-Torpal fleet in the counter attack on
Vii.
When the counter attack failed and
Axon’s son
Zelato became the new Grand Admiral and captain of the
Independence, the flagship covered the Allied exodus while the newly risen REDSTAR Union was crusading against the Protector Worlds. While largely successful, the royal fleet was ambushed and the
Independence was severely damaged and barely made it back to the space dock around
Hatia.
In dock, the Ship was not only repaired, it also was upgraded with Zero-Point energy upgrades and newer weaponry.
When the rebellion against REDSTAR began, the
Independence came back into action and it acted as crucial part of the Alliance-Rebel-Torpal attack fleet, where its weaponry and power gained it both recognition from the allies and hate from the enemies.
After the tragic destruction of
Vii, the Flagship provided headquarters for the Wexxian rebuilding personnel.
Status: 20 years and still the Pride of the Wexxian fleet.
