Which was kind of my point Pokemon has to be the most unbalanced game ever made. I have no idea how I get so addicted to it when a new one comes out.

In what way is it unbalanced?  It has to be one of the most balanced RPG's ever.  If you know what you're doing, almost any Pokemon can be used as a strategic member of the time, that can even take down Legendarys.

Bug pokemon are crap psycic pokemon are overpowered it's only through the inclusion of dark pokemon that they have been reigned in even then the only really good dark pokemon os Umbrion (sp?). Through out the game NPCs tell you that all pokemon are good its just not true you take a level 80 butterfree and put it up agaisnt a level 80 mewtwo that bug will have it's arse handed to it despite the type advantage. Heck you don't even need the legendary pokemon an Alakzam will mop the floor. that is 2 fully evolved pokemon.

That is why the game is unbalanced sure I could beat the legendaries in Ruby/Sapphire with any pokemon buts thats taking a pokemone actully catching multiple pokemon to find one with good stats traing it properly to get the effort points to the right attributes and making sure to have a good move set. then leveling up at least 10 levels higher than what you are battling.

Um ... I think I've played two of the Pokemon games and that was quite a long time ago ... I obviously don't know enough for this thread. Although let me add this before I go: The best Pokemon game at that time was Pokemon Trading Card Game. I loved that game.

Guys, Nintendo will never do an MMO.
The reasons for this are infinite, but let's just say Nintendo isn't stupid enough to waste all their hard-earned money in the MMO market trying to get kids hooked on a 15 dollar per month application that would require many many years of hard work from a large number of employees. Nintendo knows that simple and great ideas sell, while they can spend more money, time, and use some creative freedom on their major IPs, I don't think they'd risk pulling an MMO...

And yeah, the Revolution may sell 200 million units if it is half the price of the nextgen consoles.

Its hard to say somthing will NEVER happen. Nintendo might make a MMO one day, but it could be more like Guild Wars than a "normal" MMO personaly I would be happy with a pokemon game with a main single player experience and a online battle room that you could go too and play people around your team's lvl.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
I no i cannt spel

Trust me Nintendo wont charge for online services I'm sure they will probably take a startergy closer to Guild wars then a subscription fee thats assuming they do try the MMO market.

I'm still training myself to see 'MMO' and not immediately think of 'Persistent State World' as being uniformly connected to it. Ugh. I keep going, 'Well if it's a MMO, it will have a monthly fee for them to run the servers and provide consistent updates' -- and then I have to correct myself.

If I get a console during this generation (probably), it is going to be a Revolution. (And, no.  Not for the Nintendo MMO ::))

Incorrect. Tyranitar.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

Funny, I had a headache earlier today. But now that I know about the name it's gone away.

What an odd premonition. Although I can only say that retrospectively.
Not a winner anymore.

Technically, the best Dark Pokemon is Suicune, since he is actually a good pokemon and doesn't have the crappy type disadvantage.  I would take Crunch Suicune over any Tyranitar any day.  Then again, I hate legendary Pokemon.

Yes, Pokemon is horribly imbalanced.  The counters don't work: any player that puts more time into the game can simply stat tweak his monsters to unbeatable levels.  You could have a level 100 Metacross against a level 80 Alakazam, who has a 4x resistance to Psychic and freaking studly attack power, and still lose thanks to the fabulous idea of EV's and breeding moves and TM's and HM's that have been introduced.  Fire Punch one hit KO FTW!

Seriously, the game has been made more complicated over the years when it actually needed to be made simpler.  I can't tell you how many times I have seen little children running around with a single Pokemon approaching godlike status, and then complaining when another player beats them with a slightly higher lower level monster that should have it's butt handed to it.  This game is like rock-paper-scissors-nuke.  Little children level one monster at the cost of every other one and either kill every other little kid or cry a lot, and the good players freaking wipe the floor with everyone but each other.  The in-betweens can't have any fun!

That being said, I still kinda like Pokemon, but wish Blizzard's Starcraft team could take a look at the balance involved.
