Just got a demo back...
« on: April 18, 2006, 08:10:32 am »
My band has just recorded a demo for Bristol Festival, and I got my copy of it earlier. Anyone know of a good place I can host a track so you guys can listen to it?

Edit: Never mind, It's on Putfile, here.

I recommend putting the bass up loud. Very loud. Also, the guy dropping his sticks at the end in pain would be me. :)

A Junk band. We play stuff like old oil drums, gas pipes and shopping trolleys. Anything that sounds good when you bash it.

I liked it, that was really good. I suppose Blue Man Group could be considered a junk band, your music reminds me of them.

You need to break it up a little. Even the most sympathetic listener will tune out after the fiftieth "bang. bang. bang."

We do put breaks in our songs when we perform normally (from actual physical breaks to changes in instrument combinations) - that track was actually improvised on the day, and we only played it once before recording (I'll be honest, the other tracks on the demo which are better practiced sound terrible, because the guy recording us didn't know what he was doing).

When we perform, the songs don't tend to go on quite that long either. :-\

Thanks guys. :)

Edit: So we got into Ashton Court, we played, and we rocked out. Awesome.

Also, I almost got to meet The Go! Team. But unfortunately, I had to leave before they headed down to the VIP area.
