It may sound strange, but looking at the way the graphics are structured inthe screenshots, it almost look more like an upgrade to Dungeon Siege.

You know, thats very true.  It does remind me of Dungeon Siege.  I wanted to like that game.  Oh I so wanted to like it, but I just got so board in the middle of it.

really? It was one of the few games I actually wanted to finish, most games I'll play then stop half way through.
But I wanted to go all the way in dungeon siege.

ok, im confused, how can a game like rise of ledgends be compared to an rpg like dungeon siege? am I missing something here........?

What I was refering to was the layout of the screenshots, the graphics, the details, etc... looks like it was build on the Dungeon Seige engine. It just has that 'feel' to it. It is kind of like looking at a car and knowing its a Jaguar or Pontiac just by its body details.

Dungeon Siege was cool, but it was a resource hog and the gameplay was just not very rewarding to me. It had tons of cool features, but I never felt like I was doing much more than watching a looooooong dull movie. I think I got about 2/3rd of the way through it before the wife and I gave up.

Yeah, this one looks stylisticly like Dungeon Seige.  I hope it doesn't play like DS though.  I had already played thru the game and I knew the crappy ending, but my roommate insisted that he wanted to play thru the game and see what happens.... He comes out one day and tells me "I've just wasted three weeks of my life."

RoN was a very bland RTS. This one will probably follow in its footsteps of being a mediocre RTS.

Stop trolling, hmmm? You seem to want to incite pointless arguments wherever you go.

And RoN was one of the best RTS games I've ever played. The TBS/RTS hybrid gameplay worked wonderfully.

EDIT: Gamespot has a "Hands-on" report about Rise of Legends!  Read it here!

*this is my first post D: Nice to meet you denizens of the GamingSteve Community*

Mmmm... Rise of Legends. According to the gamespy article, in the preview they only showed the Vincis and the Arabic magic race, but there will be two more races available in the game(not in an expansion).

In other news, I've just wet myself in anticipation of the upcoming RTS games. AoE3 makes me giddy like a school girl.

I mean, that an expansion will include two more races, in addition to the original four. Because four just seems like a low number of races to choose from
