It beats the incredibly objectified female characters most game developers force us to use.
What, with the super-slimness, huge breasts and garish and skimpy outfit, usually wielding a lousy staff, dagger, or general magic spells?
Yes, that's boring too.
I quite liked Chris (female) from Suikoden III. Too bad the game itself was a piece of crap.
Samus Aran of Metroid does a good job, but you never really see or hear her. Ever.
Virginia from Wild Arms 3... she was too cheery all the damn time. That and I hated that game.
Of course there are other non-lead characters that do well, but they're usually made so underdeveloped compared to the main character.
Hell, I'll take an interesting and well-developed female character over another lame one-dimensional bonerack with barely covered basketball-sized balloons on her chest. Or over another pretty boy.
But I guess that's just me. Yawn.
