I stay sane by counting down the hours to E3 and the Nintendo press release in the Kodak Theatre.
Just kidding.
LadyM lied: I too am sane.

The trick is to keep your sanity safe for future use. There is no point in damaging it by attempting to keep it on your person though a whole year (+) of waiting for Spore. I put mine in a little box labeled "don't open until your Spore disc is [here]" and put it in my closet.

Also, knowing I'll have a new computer by the end of the month helps keep sane. It's like getting Spore early, except not.

I have just found the best cure for Spore-related impatient insanity: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Seriously. It's addictive. Play it for a week and you will forget the outside world even exists. Even things like showering, eating and breathing will begin to take a backseat to exploring Cyrodiil. Buy it, play it, and you will condemn your soul to the deepest darkest levels of awesome.

Agreed completely.  Beautiful game to say the least.
