My creature the Gopiaribe
« on: March 19, 2006, 11:59:34 am »
They live on flat plains and on the coast. They have a thick leathery tail which has black crab claw on the end of it. The black dots down its neck are actually ears as it has excellent hearing. The picture shown here is a male of the species due to the rainbow colored lower beak, The female of the species has a dark lower Beck and is a slightly lighter shade of brown.

Pronounced : Go-pry-a-ribe

nice pic :)

although I'd suggest making the pic a .jpg or something because with the format it is in now, it takes a little bit to load even with a fast connection.

Interesting, has a parrot look to it. Can it fly?

It is cute. How is it's balance with no arms? Any way to defend itself?

They use thier tails for balance but as the babies have not fully developed tails so they move by resting on their bellies and pushing themselves along :P

The babies have no form of defense apart from thier parents and the well made nests Which may house 4-9 Families and are extremly strong (pics soon)

Sorry about no update :-\ heptic week

This is a map of the homeworld J'raab, the Gopiaribes first evolved at P'tross before setting out westwards where they settled mainly on the coasts of the great plains, there are many disputes bweteen the bickering tribes but these rarely end with war as Gopiaribes are a rather peaceful race but they are also capable of great crulelty.

Next time..... Gopiaribe combat! ;D

P.S Will probabley have a text update on Gopriaribe language before that

Gopiaribe language has a quite different layout to english
Nouns have a pre-letter/s which come before the puncuation mark, the letter/s show roughly what the object/place/thing is.
The noun headers so far are:
J':Sphere, Ball, Circle, Planet, Moon ,Sun
P':Dwelling, Town/Village, Tribe, People, Building
K':Land, Continent, Island, Dirt, Comet, Hill, Mountain
D':Drink, Water, Liquid, Cold, Wet, Rain, Snow, Ice
C':Insect, larvae, cocoon, nest, hive, spider
H':Tree, Plant, Grass, Fertile, Crop, Bean, Fruit, Vegetable
U':Weapon, Sharp, Wound, Blood, Injury, Death, Hunting

Gopiaribe grammer is also very different to English grammer
If we were to say : I'll just go out to the shops for a quick cup of coffee
They would say : Going shops for d'raab* made
This is because the gopiaribe have a tendency to say what they mean as quickly as possible while still remaining understandable which is why they never developed a proper grammer system, only one which prevents them from saying things like "D'raab for going made shops" which makes no sense whatsoever so they wouldn't be able to understand what they are talking about.

*Gopiaribe equivalent to coffee but it is more like something like red bull in flavor and texture as it is made by going to bubbly vent taking some of the fizzy water adding some c'wert grubs which are rich in caffeine due to their diet of the caffeine rich leaves of the h'rasso plant
