The Choice of Life
« on: March 15, 2006, 11:38:38 am »
After thousands of year's of Grottian Research they finnally managed to transfer their Sentience into the Universe. Through acquiering access of all Universal energies they became as powerful as gods. Soon Grottian Individuals started to create own Utopias on different planets. You play as Dizon Grottikus, a relatively young Grottian Sentience. You decided to settle an empty planet with a new race and you will bring them to a high level. You will ally with other Grottians, and fight evolutionary Wars with your opponents to become the master of all life.

Task A-1: Pick a planet
A: Harasar - Desert Planet, the oceans do not exist
B: Ayalamih - Mountainious Planet, its rather cold here and water is common in frozen form here
C: Quetzacoto - Jungle Planet, this planet has a high air humidity and is Really hot
D: Urohp - A plain planet, the climate is very mild and Nice here

OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

I chose C because it is a more rigid wild enviroment more due to change. Which makes a more adaptive creature which is strong. Dunno about the high air humidity though.

C wins Rather Clearly by 6 points to nothing

Grottian Political Situation: None at this time
Weather Situation on Quetzacoto: Warm

Dizon Grottikus pondered long before he came to a conclusion. He decided to move to a very humid planet that had developed many plants, and some life whatsoever. He searched the whole planet for a reasonable beginning spot, and he maintained this spot safe for a while until he was completely done with his creation. Then it was done, in a little puddle of mud and gooey green water he created a microorganism.

Our microorganism exists in the waters of the puddle and is floating aimlessly about. Whenever plantlike structures (if you can call them that since they are even smaller than our little bacteria) get in the organisms way, its membrane simply absorbs the plants. After absorbing a certain ammount the cell usually splits up and has a partner. It worked so well. Then one day a rather passive, yet gigantic (in comparison to us) organism started to spread in our area. The organism, which was like huge round hairry blob, started to absorb our little bacteria's food source, and eventually also some of our specimen as well. The bad thing was that none of ours ever noticed the blobs since they were blind.

A: Develop Flagella
B: Develop a sucker
C: Develop a Spike
D: Develop some sort of sensing

C wins 4 to 3 to B

Grottian Political Situation: Yet none
Weather Situation: Warm

Dizon Grottikus was baffled, his young race was threatened by the bubbles. He decided that he should find a way to defeat the bubbles as they were a major problem. He created a new weapon for the young species.

The microorganism population was extremely decimated by the big blob population. Many of our specimen became extinct but through the intelligence of Dizon Grottikus they could be saved. He planted the new DNA in a promising Specimen and waited. As he reproduced his reproduction had a long horn like structure growing out of its body. With that horn it became possible to pop the big blobs open and then drink the substance. Soon the blobs were decimated but not extincted and an equilibrium between the two races came to happen. The only real competition between them was who would eeat planktons first.

A: Grow Bigger
B: Develop First Senses
C: Devlop Flagella
D: Raise reproduction rate

B Wins

Grottian Political Situation: None yet
Weather Situation: Warm

As Dizon Grottikus saw the perfect equilibrium he had created he smirked. He was happy that he had outsmarted the Bubbles and wondered what could be done next. Maybe do something completely revolutionary? Perhaps add some sensory organ, he thought. So he created a DNA code that would allow light determination. He added it to his creature

As the new sensory organ was added to the microorganism, they gained a great advantage over all the other existing bacteria at this moment, even though their organ was rather primitive. They could determine different shades, alas Bubbles would appear darker to our specimen. Soon they conquered even more of this area of the puddle and they grew on some size. One day the equilibrium was disturbed, however, as a race of long, fast racers came to feed on all the plankton. Our species was too slow to actually damage them, so they had to watch the planktons being eaten by the racers.
A: Add flagella
B: Grow tentacles
C: Grow Antenna
D: Make horns possible to shoot

D wins

Grottian Political Situation: None Yet
Weather Situation: Warm

Our Protagonist Dizon Grottikus couldnt sleep at night, thinking about his creations, and their enemies. He had to help their cause, but how? Those newly arrived creatures were faster and more agile then us. THe only true advantage we had was that we could tell the difference of light and dark. Well he thought, lets experiment. After days of hard work he created the DNA for a new Defense mechanism.

Our specimen's existence was threatened by the racers, they ate all the blobs, and all the plankton as well. Also they were hard to catch as they were quick. The organisms, however, were soon aided by their creator. The new DNA implanted in some of them, made their horns shootable, and also the horns would regrow. So it came to happen that the whole body was surrounded by the horns which would be send in all direcctions when they decided to shoot them. Soon many racers were destroyed and the leftovers of them did not pose a threat to our little plankton dwelling race.

After several years our microorganisms grew to about the size of the head of a needle, they were now a multicellular being. New enemies came to our organisms as swimming Sponges, who would attract our specimen into their many mouths. Then Spiderlike beings that would hunt for us, and then of course the Suckers, a creature that sucks everything in in the area.

A: Develop a poison in our Spikes
B: Develop hooks so we can hook ourselves on the floor
C: Enhance our light/darkness sense
D: Grow little fins
OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

A: Poison,  shooting poison horns, that sounds neat! Sounds a bit like a jellyfish or something.
