WIP creature: Acertelum
« on: March 11, 2006, 04:21:12 pm »
WIP - work in progress.
Acertelum: Ace-er-tell-um
I'm still working on the drawings and stuff, but I'm pretty proud of these drawings so I've decided to post them.

The files are a bit, big. I haven't shrunk them yet, or coloured them, so just put up with the drawings for now, yeah? :D

Notes:
Between the size of a large dog or a human.
The head has a visor which is held by a strong, but small arm, and covers the creatures face to protect the head in-case of a bump, and so that they can run with they're eyes fully open, no matter the weather. The visor is seethrough from the inside.
They have 2 main sets of arms, smaller and larger.
The smaller have graspers with aposable thumbs, for grabbing, ripping and helping to eat.
The larger arms have a pair of large, sharp claws on the end, and a smaller, double jointed arm with a large, sharp spear on the end. This allows the creature to grasp its prey, and plunge the sharp spikes in for an almost instant kill.
They have another set of large scythes, on they're back. These are extended as a threat display and are used for mating dances. Thees are also usefull for getting up if the creature is on its back.
The hind legs, the ones most used for running, pouncing etc. Powerful muscles mean the creature is quite quick.
Finlay, the tail has 4 spikes, perfect for plunging into creatures and turning, cutting up the insides.

Yeah, I know I suck at spelling and stuff. It's not like I can stop it, I'm dyslexic, but I've gotten ALLOT better in the last year than I ever was before.

I'm currently drawing some large land-prey for the acers, and When I've done that, I'll do a pic of a pack of acers hunting one of the prey down.

The material for the visor would be what? Thin bone? Thick skin? (lol) Cartilage? Or maybe some other material they can create? (Why do i ask so many questions?)

Why bump this one?
The Corvala thread is my best, and it basicly died.
(it may sound a bit ego-ish, but if something I do dosn't get attention I get bored of it...)
