Interactive World
« on: March 09, 2006, 02:59:02 pm »
Basically its like this: We have 5 Masters
A Weather Master
A Monster Master
A NPC Master
A Random Events Master
A Player Helper

The first five to post here can call for one master and together with them we create situations for the rest of the players.
Also I sometimes interfere...

OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

While we're waiting, Random Kitten.

There's now a Kitten standing on a remote Island with enough food to survive until a rescue ship will arive and all will randomly dissapear without any trace of having been anywhere, Exept a lone dish of half eaten cat food for whoever knows to stumble upon. (Don't worry, the kitten and ship are all fine, they just dissapeared to another comfertable universe.)

Hey, I've got to start somewhere right?

Some NPC's get killed I guess but nonetheless...
Out of the ground sprouts some docks where a ship could dock, the NPC tell people love to trade they've got wealthy amounts of cat food to trade for anything. And tourism is always nice too.

A large ghost ship looms in obviously having been sunk at one point. The side of the worn iron hull is unreadable and a large gash which traverses about 1/4 of the length of the ship can be seen on the starboard side. The ship comes into dock, even though it is physically impossible. A large rope which is in good condition as compared to the rest of the ship is thrown over the side by an unknown figure. The starboard hatch opens with a groan and a hiss, as the rusty distraught hinges work for the first time in almost a century. The large iron door is white and clean and actually gleams in the afternoon sunlight, it appears like new. In bold stamped letters on the inside of the door the words "White Star Line" can be seen, shocking everyone around. A man in a top hat strodes confidently out as he adjusts his monacle, he walks with his black umbrella, using it like a cane. He appears to be in his early sixtys and is completely transparent. Besides that he looks completely normal.

He looks around openly and frowns as he raises an eyebrow. He holds his monocale with his left hand and squints as he scans the dock. He spots the huge rope which was thrown over earlier and approaches it. He walks up to the side, touches it with the tip of his umbrella and snaps his fingers as the rope clumsily ties itself. The large ship suddenly fluxes and shimmers as the entire thing now becomes solid and intact. The hull breach is magically gone and the side of the ship reads in large proud letters "Titanic". The ship gives one long loud blast and people begin to file out onto the dock dressed in various clothes which look completely rediculous.

(I'm the man with the top hat)  ;D

The loud moaning can be heard from the other side of the island again as the Titanic docks. And a sand crab pinches Dr. Dozzy's big toe on his left foot.

The man with the monocle spots a large omnious jar of jelly on the beach, about 20 meters from his position. Suddenly it tips over and a disgruntled man seems to be struggling as the jelly consumes his feet. The man with the monocle breaks into a run and is careful to hold onto his hat as to not let it fly away with the wind. His coat tails flail in the air as he quickens his pace. His umbrella is underneath his arm as he runs, and you can't help but think of the monopoly guy as he approachs the beach.

The man runs over to the disgruntled PC gamer and throws his umbrella at him. He yells at the wierd looking lad who is lost in the sea of grape jelly:

"Open it!!!"

The gamer opens the umbrella and is plucked from the jelly as he soars into the sky... suddenly the umbrella folds in on itself and the rather upset man comes crashing onto the beach in a swirl of sand.

As you approach the bunny, you realise that it is indeed larger than you thought. It stands 20 ft. tall on all four legs, has pink fur, and eyes darker than night itself. It regards you with a suspicious curiosity. it cocks it's head and wiggles its nose a bit. what will you do?

it's eyes suddenly become bloodshot and gain a reddish tint. It hisses and rears up onto it's hind legs, bringing it to a height of around 40 ft. All of it's fur stands on end. It flashes its huge, blood stained teeth at you as it falls back to the ground. It's ears focus right on you as it stares at you through malicious, blood thirsty eyes. it is breathing hard and looks as if it will attempt to swallow you in about two seconds, what do you do?

EDIT: SEVEN!! IM THE MONSTER MASTER!! NOT YOU!!!

The bunny tears you off its leg with its monstrous teeth and throws you 50 ft. down the beach, at the man with the monocles. It then charges at you full speed in a blind, frothy-mouthed rage.

The Ginat bunny tramples the man with the monocles as he charges straight for you. he overtakes you and pins you down in front of the docks. The froth from his mouth falls onto your face as it decides what to do with you.

Next to you, just withing reach you see a sharp piece of wood that washed on the shore from a ship wreck, it is within reach. You have the time because the rabbit is filled with blind rage.

Also due to the load roaring of the rabbit, the PC gamer seems to regain his conciousness. (Come on help the lad defeating that rabbit!)

Then why the hell do u have a problem with my bunny?!

Well if you would have gotten further then only the first tip on the first link (while I still suggest you read them both), you would've read this:

Don't try to be 'over the top' in anything.
Emphasize the personality of your character, but don't exagerate it. Some of the best rp comes out of subtlety. It's okay to be regular Joe. Most characters are not superman and they have both strengths and weaknesses, ample weaknesses. When roleplaying, remember, your character is not perfect. Remember to watch for emotes as well as add them, sometimes they give you, as a player, clues as to what a character is thinking, feeling, planning etc. It will also help to fucus the roleplay and add a little bit of flavor to something that otherwise seems mundane and 'boring'.

But this is the last post I'm making about this discussion right here.

It is definately a monster effect...

As you turn to walk back to the port, an army of sand crabs rise from beneath the sand and stare at you in angry way that only crabs can do. They start walking sideways toward your position in such a way that makes you think they're pissed.

All of the crabs charge at the boat and fall in the gap that PC gamer made. They then swim back to the beach and form a giant F - U !

im un-vaporized and i start on my way to a castle. obvious paths out are north, south, and dennis. i go north. there i find a cave protected by a killer rabbit i use the holy hand grenade by counting to 3. i then proceed into the cave. there i find a trinket. i go south. then I go dennis. there i find a man. i give him the trinket. he shows me the way out. he then gives me a million dollars whitch i use to leave the island i un-vaporized onto

Vivec's cave's interior now looks exactly like a well lit hallway at some 4 star hotel. Outside remains the same though...

What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

Yawn, none of the guys gonna continue the story?

Well, we essences of power only can slightly guide the game, not control it fully and have it continue, we need players for that. So DO SOMETHING!

The Inventor Speaks: FAR FAR TO THE NORTH, BEHIND THE OCEAN OF EVERLASTING PAIN, THERE IS AN ISLAND, ON THE ISLAND IS THE SKULLMOUNTAIN, IF YOU REACH THE TOP YOU WILL GAIN RICHES YOU CANT IMAGINE

At the same time metorites crash close into the floor next to the cave.
OK, both of you die and let us know what happens.

I pull up more boards, nail em together with the old nails and my shoe, and set sail into the water, crab squishing shoes at the ready, while drinking the remains of the tea I brought.

"Ahh, British ingenuity"

EDIT: Wait wasnt the Titanic still tied to the docks, meaning i'm being dragged by the hulk of a monster?

I have! I still waiting for a reply!

No the npc on the boat fled a few posts earlier. You are still standing on the rickety docks(you pulled out some planks remember), with a plank in your hand.

Before you lies the beach with some crabs scuttling about and further lies the edge of a forest with a path and a sign that says 'Castle Rabbitstein' with large rabbit footsteps on that path.

Further to the right on the beach lie some large rocks within the trees with mountains poking trough the tops of the trees, there are some human footsteps leading into a cave there.
