Stay Alive
« on: January 28, 2006, 12:17:23 pm »
A movie about video games, but not a movie about a particular one, which means it might not suck.

In this movie, some kids are playing a horror game called "Stay Alive," but when they die in the game, they die in real life in the same way. Looks pretty interesting, I'll probably see it.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0441796/

Any thoughts?

If it wasn't because I don't like horror movies (I don't like to get scared), I would see it.

Thats quite a cliched sort of plot device, when you think about it even Jumanji has been there before.
On a related note (lets drag this off topic!) I saw a trailer for Zathura on TV the other day "critics are calling it the best family movie of the year" duh! gee guys, dya think it might be because its still January? Duhh

I just checked it's info out. Frankie Munez is in it. (From Malcom in the Middle) Can he make the transition from comedy to horror?
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

Stay Alive the movie Where You Die In The Game - You Die For Real

This is intersting... I saw this movie trailer and the movie doesn't seem that great or scary but the topic seems to me a little anti video games, like if you get addicted or play to much you might get killed but, I was wondering what do u all think of the film?

Here's the trailer

most likey a pile of poo. I have problems when they show fake video games in movies, i'll see it and go "that's not real gameplay thats just CG." them i'm taken out of the movie. But I do like the idea of the game where you play online co-op with six or seven people in a horror game or any non-fps.

thought - if they make a game tie-in for this movie you would have to play a game in a game. ooooo
I need a new tag.

As well as Paris Hilton can go from reality TV to horror

This reminds of something similar. An anime named .Hack//Sign.  Long story short a kid gets permanently trapped in an MMO.  I have a friend who was actually so un-nerved by this idea that he quit playing games for quite some time. Not because he was literally scared of being trapped in a game. But the symbolism of playing a game so much you waste your youth playing while there are countless other things you can do as well. And by time you realize this you might be to old to enjoy them.

On topic that movie looks stupid to me, at least. This is an old thread, if anyone has seen it you should post your feedback.I liked Jumanji, only because I was a kid.

i agree. This movie, just from the previews, looks like it is cliche and stereotypical. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This movie looks so ridiculous, but I have to see it just for the "next-gen" game they play..and to see Frankie Muniz be an adult instead of Malcolm.

I know it will be stupid...but I have to.

Time for some people to review the rules!

THE RULES FOR GAMES AND MOVIES
-TV shows and movies based on video game most likely suck.
-Games based on movies and TV shows most likely suck.
-Anything based off a popular greeting card design will suck.

From the trailers I've seen... I wish they didn't even make this movie. It just makes games/gamers look crappy. I really didn't like what I saw.

But I really have to see the movie first  ;D Better not judge a movie by its trailer... isn't that how the saying goes.

The only Movie from game which is any good I can think of is Res Evil. (The first one - after that I didn't like it much + I FRIGGIN HATE ZOMBIES!)

Has anyone played the new 24 game, based on the show 24? Any good? I'm not going to buy it or anything, Just asking since its anyother game from TV. I couldn't stand the show, I hate how he always does what he wants... Yeah I guess I hate a lot of things  >:(
