Anyone take the new SATs?
« on: April 11, 2005, 05:01:25 pm »
I was wondering if anyone took the new SATs? I just got my score today. I got a 2040 out of 2400. I was wondering if that was any good? I don't know much about these scores.

Thanks!

Wow, the SATs? I have no idea how they are scored now. I actually used to teach for the Princeton Review SAT prep years and years ago, the good old days...

Um, I remember when they were scored out of 1600... does that make me less intelligent than you, voodoo? ;)

Man, I'm gonna have to take those in two years... How has it changed from the older SAT's and what exactly do you think I should know? ;D I just couldn't have been born 4 years earlier, could I? ;)

Yes, the new section is a ~30 minute essay I believe, and it adds another 800 on.

Also, I'm pretty sure that 2040 is pretty darn good, but I'm not sure.

Thanks. All my friends say "it isn't bad." Good thing I'm only a sophomore this year, I'll have another shot at it next year.

The new score of 2040 is like getting a 1340 on the 1600-based SAT's.... that's well above average.

I took the old SATs back in 03 and got a 1250, I havn't got my score for the new one yet.  It's a 30 minute essay with several sections lasting from 35 to 10 minutes.  In theory the entire thing takes 4 hours, however I arrived at my testing center at 7:30 and didn't leave until probably 12:30.

I got the oppertunity to take the SATs a few months ago. (I'm in 8th grade(technically i'm in nothing now since its summer vacation lol.) but i scored really well on another test...) it was right before they introduced the new ones. i believe i got an 1130 out of 1600. (and suprisingly that was higher then the average high schooler taking that took the same test got on the test.)
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

I took the new one in back in May and I got a 1590.  Mostly because I wrote a crappy essay.
