Firewall

I saw this movie yesterday, and I loved it. It was intelligent, but still had a lot of exciting action. Also, a buttload of suspense. My only gripe, the fight scenes were all shaky and my eyes went crossed.

I would highly recommend this movie. I liked it a lot.

So what is it actually about? I haven't heard about this movie at all.

Basically, Harrison Ford is a security manager for a large banking corporation. Someone takes his whole family hostage and forces Ford to steal money from a bunch of peoples' accounts. But, as we all guessed, Ford isn't about to just sit around and do what they say. It's a really good movie, full of twists and whatnot.

This is my reply from the "whats in theatres now thread"

Firewalll - This could have been a much better movie. The actors certainly aren't lacking, Harrison Ford doing the Harrison Ford hing, Paul Bettany makes a great villain, and this was another chance for Virginia Madison to shine. But constant re-writes by Ford ended up pushing production back an extra two months, and if anyone see's the movie they can tell it wasn't for the better.  I'm a fan of his and all but a writer he's not. Decardes of acting doesn't mean you can always write.  I'm disappointed about this because ofthe personal time I spent with this project.

I'd call this an average action flick at the end of the day, with a plot that is very similar to Hostage (I admit though hostage came out while Firewall was filming).  I'd like to be able to say this is a movie you should rush to see, but it's really nothing special.

here's mine:

"i agree about firewall.  the writing seemed mediocre.  i noticed the repeated use of "morally convenient" situations, where ford would be under IMPENDING ATTACK that FORCED him to run a man over or bash his skull with a coffee mug.  it came off sounding like the story he told the cops after the fact."

but all the same it was entertaining.

I enjoyed watching it, but the movie was crap ok.

Good idea for a storyline, but they messed it up pretty bad, and the last 30mins was complete rubbish.

Yea, same here. They could have gone deeper. For example show the guy in charge of security’s point of view (the guy who almost got ran over), and have him fallow the clues.

Plus the idea that you could use a fax machine to scan a computer screen is preposterous (wow, big word). But I’ll let it go since it’s a moive.
