Oooh. It would be cool if you could make like the Combine and genetically and cybernetically enhance the natives into willing super-soldiers while you drain the planets resources (and oceans)
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

I can see where they might have races that are subjugated by your species, like the Native-Americans in American history, but outright slavery might cause some troubles.  I just don't think it would be in good taste.

Or what if you were like the Kroot instead of the Tau?
Hrmm thats much more an allicance with the Tau hoping thet their (debatbly) good influence will rub off on the heathern natives who stil seem to be rather preocupied with eating things than big zappy guns.

It's a game.  I mean, is war in too bad of taste as well?  What about predators eating meat, that might offend vegetarians.  It's Real and that's the point.

Really? I mean slavery would be intresting to see and all, but with everything thats happened in earths past I would think it would be sore subject to put in. Then again maybe not, who knows.

Well if you guys are still intrested in this subject... Last time I watched the GDC video I am about 80% sure I heard Will say that after you create a species you will only be able to control that species on that planet.  So you could possibly have others like you as slaves but not other races.  Anyone else hear this?

Ug, I got a stupid pink unicorn, hope next is better.

Slavery is very far from war and evolution on the PC scale. I highly doupt it'll be a part of this game.

Blah, I was looking around for an Icon to use as my avatar and in the thread called Spore Icons, there is a little one in the Tribal stage labeled "Slavery" so I guess theres your answer.  :)

Ummmm... How?
Quote from: The Will
In a movie, one can always pull back and condemn the character or the artist ... But in playing a game ... we can be encouraged to examine our own values by seeing how we behave within virtual space.
tl;dr. But with all those shiny symbols and numbers it's probably awsome.

Ummmm... How?

Oh I thought that would be enough to hold you guys over.  I mean if theres a litlte icon for it, it must have been talked about and discussed or else why would they have the icon?  I mean it doesn't tell you what can be enslaved, but definitely seems like it means that slavery is going to be in to me.
You don't think the same?  Eh

Those icons aren't official. They're fan-made.

It's a simple mistake. They do look incredibly professional. Thanks Jaleho :)

And I would enslave other species to do my work, but I don't think I could enslave my own creatures. It's that whole ownership of creatures thing. I created every single one of them (in a sense), I don't want them to be exploited
