wow thats cool Mr Wizard! :) we'll have at least two insiders for the GDC! :) I don't know whether you will be limited about whether you film it or take pictures.

Hey steve, was the GDC vid you made with a handheld camcorder?

Still, that is very cool! at least you should be able to release info sooner than Steve. :)

Actually if you go to I-CON you can also meet Terry Brooks. The nice thing about I-CON is that you can meet everyone who is presenting/speaking there. It's really awesome.

You aren't allowed to record at GDC, but you can at E3. Also GDC is all about lectures and presentations, there are very few games being played or presented there (well, except for Spore!)

it must have been one assigned by the GDC to record that. I don't think it means you can't take notes, they may have to be mental ones though.

I realize that GDC is mainly lectures and presentations, but any new info that comes out is good :)

Where Is I-Con Again? I cant remember and I don't want to rewind now (:D) If it was in Manhattan, I can't, me being a little California boy  ;)

I am going to the GDC, though, I'll try not to scare Steve. (Imagine a barrel chested, bearded man running to him, yelling, "Steve!"  :D J/k I wont yell   ;))

What are you doing at the GDC Steve? Come on! If you dont want to post it, PM me!

EDIT: The name that game sound bit is hilarious.

I wrote the bio (actually, it's on the site as well now). I also came up with the name of the company SuperNova (well, it was my company).

That Supernova Stars game I meet with those guys a couple of years ago at E3 and they were giving out beers with the name Supernova on them, so I got/stole like 10 of them and brought them back with me to NYC. I still have them ... I can only imagine how bad that beer must be after 4+ years.

lol on that!

its too bad that the development died when it did, it had ALOT of potential to become a great game, but for some reason they couldn't find a damn publisher :P and the mare crisium site no longer exists....

Is there a reason why you can say the company now, but you couldn't before? Just curious. I knew it all along. ;)

I'm surprised nobody's posted about that special thing at the end of the podcast. Then again, I'm really not sure what phrase to use to try and search for it..

I assume you mean the "it's gonna be big" part. That sounds exciting, I don't have a clue what "it" could be. But millions?! My mind is itching to know what it is.

AVP 1 had a ton of problems in it. It wasn't that well balanced, you couldn't save anywhere, things like that. It wasn't done by the same development team, only stick with AVP 2, it's a much better game.

As for "the thing" that I'm working on I really can't talk about it just yet. As it gets closer I will talk about it more, but it is amazingly exciting!

Crap. Now how am I going to sleep? ;) Now I'm wondering when "it" is. I have no idea how to judge "closer." Oh well, I'm sure we'll know when you can tell us.

I have a few ideas.

1.  Some kind of a radio show.

2.  Some kind of a TV show.

3.  SOme kind of a magzine.

4.  Steve works in conjunction with the Spore team somehow to deliver some kind of podcast or something.

5.  The Gaming Steve podcast migrates somewhere, leading to more popularity.

I dont see any of those things attracting *Millions* of listeners. My only guess is the revalation of something ridiculously huge... or a competition to give away something ridiculously huge.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

But Millions? how is he planning to do that. Nah, we will have to wait to know that.

Fantastic Episode once again Steve. Really appreciate the work you do.

I'm really glad you did AVP2. It's a truely brilliant game and I've been touting its virtues for a while now. I only wish I wasn't traumatised by Aliens at the age of 7 by my father, so I could play the AVP2 Marine campaign. =)

Aliens Vs. Predator had a huge amount of problems.  For one, the game was very, very dark.  You could barely see anything, and the only race which could have infinite lighting was the alien, was well, looked goofy when you did it.  The predators visors actually drained power rather quickly, and the marines night vision did as well.  I said, you got to be kidding me.  It's the 23rd Century, can't they have infinite powered batteries by now?  The game was very, very hard.  Especially with the Marine.  The Xenomorphs are just the same ones you fight over and over again and constantly respawn.  And not in the cool scary System Shock 2 way.  I mean in the way that you could leave a room, come back, and a 100 would respawn.  The races were very unbalanced and the Predator had the advantage, but it was still hard anyway.  Especially those boss battles!  If you got killed, you'd be sent back to the beginning of the area!  The short demo you can download is even hard to pass!  The story..is well they don't have a story.  It was done by developer Rebellion, who isn't very good. (look at their Judge Dread game...) Stick with AVP 2, it's done by Monolith, who've done games like Tron 2.0 ,Shogo, and F.E.A.R.  Just forget avp 1.
