Spore-related poem
« on: February 03, 2006, 03:07:19 pm »
Well, today I checked out a book by Richard Ellis, called Aqua Genesis: The Origin and Evolution of Life in the Sea. Besides being incredibly interesting, the book contained an excerpt from The Tempest, by Erasmus Darwin in the preface. Now, normally, poetry doesn't interest me. This, however, was too amazing to pass up. It seems to me that this outlines the early phases of the evolutionary cycle as seen both in real life and in Spore. Also, this is very well written and enthralling to read, encompassing vast scopes of time and development.

Hence without parents, by spontaneous birth
Rise the first specks of animated earth...
Organic life beneath the shoreless waves
Was born and nurs'd in ocean's pearly caves;
First forms minute, unseen by spheric glass,
Move on mud, or pierce the watery mass;
These, as successive generations bloom,
New powers acquire and larger limbs assume;
Whence countless groups of vegetation spring;
And breathing realms of fins and feet and wing.

I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did.

It's nice, but it doesn't say anything about organs.
Seriously though, I'm not too fond of poetry. At first I thought this was a fan-created poem  :-X

I've seen poems written for Red Alert 2. It's not a pretty sight. Anyway, when's that poem from?

From The Tempest by Erasmus Darwin. 1802, I think. Long before Spore fans, heck, Spore for that matter, existed.

not exactly in rhythm but its funny stupid right?

Hello my name is spore
I was created by the editor
I swim around
so scared of  brown
till i get a sharp stabbing chance
Now i kill the brown to enhance
I lay an egg, here we go now
editor says I have to walk somehow
three leggs, gimme a spear
Dance around the fire nothing to fear
Big city now, I'm the beaurocrat man
Gotta build some ships, thats the plan
They flew away, who cares, ufo stomp
Listening for sounds on my galactic romp
They try to shoot me down, no way
I'll show them whos boss and I'm here to stay
KABOOM its all gone, bye bye jerks
Cheating with will wright has its perks

This is a haiku,
It's about Spore, which looks neat,
And that's about it.

I want to play Spore
so bad, I could kill someone,
any second now

The game Battle for
Middle Earth two, is so great
I will have it soon

The Naucean and
Kazea kiss and be friends
the Gracken kill them

I probably am
not doing this correctly,
but I couldn't care

I most love Sauron
But Morgoth is very cool
The shadow shall rule

Im conservative
I like the game Warhammer
I am getting bored

Ash Nazg Durbatuluk,
Ash Nazg Gimbatul,
Ash Nazg Thrakatuluk,
Ag Burzum-Ishi Krimpatul!!!
