MythBusters
« on: February 01, 2006, 04:13:45 pm »
Man, this show is great! Have any of you guys seen it? Its on the Discovery Channel every Wednesday at 9 pm EST/PST. I really enjoy it. Some of these myths that they test are just downright crazy (Like the one about the woman who got pregnant from a bullet with sperm on it). If you havent seen this show, you should check it out. Its on tonight at 9pm EST/PST on Discovery.

What do you guys think of it? What were some of your favorite myths?

I absolutely love Mythbusters. My favorite one is when they proved that you can't get your head cut off by a ceiling fan  :P

Its on Monday nights down here its a kick arse show. Got to love when the blow up the cement truck. Although they are starting to reach for myths now "The myth that you can buy and build a jetpack using instructions on the internet." Thats not so much a myth as Jamie and Adam wanting to build a jetpack. Still cool to watch.

i liked the one where the proved that a Penny dropped from the Empire State Building would not kill a person. They ended up modifying an air powered nail-gun to fit a Penny, after seeing the results of the test on the weird dummy mold thing made to simulate skin, they tested it out on each other. Those guys are just crazy!

I've seen just about all of them now. When I was on vacation in England they were showing two or three episodes a day all month.

Love this show! Thought the going into water to escape a gunshot was intersting. A .50cal can be avoided if a few feet underwater and a few feet away.

Anyway, these guys are hilarious and their experiments are fantastic.

Wow, this makes me realize how long it's been since I was an active user here.

just the simple fact that they really enjoy what they do. They look like kids in a candy store.

the one where they were shooting in the swimming pool, the guy who wasn't able to shoot was looking all jealously at the other because it seemed he really wanted to shoot. It's funny to see how the react. They are very expressive and animated.

They get to make things other people only think about doing.

That's actually an understatement.  In the UK, the Discovery channel is basically the MythBusters channel now.
But yeah, not that I'm complaining.  ;)
