if you like FPS get XB
if you like wacky or unique games get PS2
if you like graphics get XB
if you like a huge libary of games get PS2
if you like online get XB

I would get a PS2, however, are you sure you want to give up your chance to play Twilight Princess?  ;D

I thought the controller was a good idea.

And yeah he can wait... but can he wait?

You could keep your Gamecube and one controller and pack it away till TP comes out, and spend the money from all your other Gamecube stuff and put a PS2 cheap.

Or pull an ebay scam and just send the gamecube box (assuming you still have it)

I say that you should get an Xbox. I have one, it's a ton of fun, much better than gamecube. I was thinking about selling the GC too, but I backed out of it because of the fun games that only nintendo can provide.

That actually happened to me with the Animal Crossing Wild World that I bought.

PS: I was kidding, patman.

I could never give up my GC or any console I got. Personally i say stick with the GC we are at the end of a console generation here wait a while and just save up for a next gen one. Then its a matter of trying to decide if you want to go Xbox 360 or PS3 (or stay continue with a Rev).

Personally I haven't decided which way to go yet I'll probably get a Revalution sometime down the line but not as my main console but haven't decided I have been tempted by PS3 the idea I like my wrestling games and the Smackdown series is far better than anything seen on any other console.

I'd normally say Xbox and tell you to mod it but looks like you don't want to spend too much so geta PS2. Sony has lower priced games and EA is cutting prices on current gen as well. Plus Kindom Hearts II is just around the corner.

I think I am going with the PS2. I like the controlls, I like the RPGs and the FPS.

For TP, the thing with me and Zelda games is this. I will play half way through, get bored and stop playing forever.
So I am not keeping an entire system for a 50 dollar game, that I am only going to play 50% anyway.

If you have the money, seriously, wait for the PS3, or get the X360 (my choice), or Revolution.

Xbox.

Besides the great games you can play and the dvds you can watch, it's fairly simple to mod into a great media center (search google and digg.com).   Take that into respect and the console will have resale value for at least a year to come.
