TIVO ... I have two, an older one thats just a Tivo and the newer one that has a DVD burner in it. My desktop computer also has the Windows media and I can watch TV and record but I don't use that option much.

I change my vote. If they have TiVO with a DVD burner, you HAVE to go with that. It's soooo annoying not being able to burn your stuff to a DVD. Go with TiVO unless you can get a DVR with a DVD burner.

Actually, a media center PC is probably best, but only if money is no object.

I have a DVR that works great, but I agree with 762, get the DVD burner.

My parents bought a DVD burner a couple of weeks ago, and so far it is pretty good.

I guess I misunderstood the question and told you what I have. If you are wanting to buy one, I would say go with Tivo with the DVD burner. It is by far the best one. It's so easy to transfer programs to DVD and you can also play DVD's in it too.

My satellite DVR sucks. You can't do anything with the stuff. I wish I had a media center PC or that DVR DVD thing you guys are talking about
