I found the game to be highly vexating as a lot of the characters were very masculine and powerful, yet the main characters were females or girly, little fairy guys. What is even worse is the fact that a lot of games follow this formula.

Seriously, what happened to the alpha males like Solid Snake or Kratos? I'm sick of being little kids, girls, or girly-guys.

apparently the japanese think manly men should have a feminine side.  it's like the katana with a hard exterior and soft, flexible interior.

i was just looking for a download of final fantasy: advent children, saw some trailers and... yeah, girly.
I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

I cannot stand that as characters I play have to reflect my personality and the way I would present myself if I'm going to even remotely like them.

And aye, you're right, the Japanese game developers have an obsession with turning men into girls, which is slowly causing me to despise them.

as much as sephiroth has childbearing hips, he and cloud still look enormously cool and could easily kick either of our asses.

No, I would tear their emaciated bodies in half, especially Cloud.

While I don't play Japanese anime-type games, I can feel your pain. I mean, who the hell wants to run through a world killing demons as a guy who likes a good cry and a carton of chocolate ice cream when their boyfriend breaks up with them? No offense to anyone in the REAL world, but this is fantasy stuff. I wouldn't want Sam Fisher wearing a dress.
