2006, PC Gaming
« on: January 21, 2006, 03:10:12 pm »
Hey everyone,
While I was looking around the internet I found this very awesome thread from the Gamespot Forums.
http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24145969
This guy list tons of PC games coming out in 2006, plus some cross-platform games.
After looking over that list, I have to say I am excited for 2006!

So, what do yall think? 2006 will be an awesome year for the PC, or just another dismal year of sequels?

EDIT: I just took a look at one of the games on that list...
Take a look at this ! http://www.logicfactory.com/games_seeker.htm
The design of this game looks interesting. Episodic content, arching story, and aparently on-line player interaction! Pretty cool!

They mentioned Society on there. Glad it wasn't forgotten.
I'm so looking forward to that one. It's an MMORTS if you didn't know, and I've been wanting one for a very long time.

And yeah, a lot of them do look the same. Tons of World War kind of stuff.
Also, Caesar IV and Heart of Empire: Rome look pretty alike.

Good to see Gothic 3 on there too.
Uh... that Wiki game looks pretty strange.

I hope Tales of Eternia Online comes out here. It looks nice.

What the hell? Ragnarok Online 2?  ???
I've not heard of this. I'll have to look into it..

There's not a lot of interesting things on there, but still. Looking through there makes me giddy with anticipation.
Damn, it's going to be a good year.

My bank account is crying just from me looking at this list - so much for the renovations to the house and the new car.

I can't believe the Guild 2 is almost out - it's almost been 4 years!  ...and I've not touched the original since I played that one big marathon session.

First I've heard of Society - but I have yet to be disappointed by a Stardock game.

Nothing by Matrix Games or Spiderweb software though - guess they're too niche.

Man...I had gone through 80% of that page, listing which games I was going to buy and which ones looked really interesting, before I realized that it would have been shorter to list the ones I wasn't interested in (anything MMO and...1 or 2 others).  It's going to take 5 years to even PLAY all of these!

I'm gonna bet that about 20% of them slip to 2007.

Good to see Gothic 3 on there too.

I didn't even know the second one was out... I loved the first one anyway.

The second one had a VERY quiet release. I didn't hear a damn thing, but thanks go to my brother for annoying the Future Shop employees every time we went in.
It wasn't even on the shelves. It was in the back, and it stayed there. They were glad to get us a copy, but they never did bring it out.
I really wish I knew why... it's been driving me nuts.

I highly recommend you get Gothic 2 if you enjoyed the first. Use mininova.org if necessary.

Seriously though,
This list is really awesome. I keep looking back at it and realizing how much I'd like some of these games!
Sword of Stars, Seeker, Rise of Legends, Warhamner, Ancient War: Sparta, Supreme Commander, Dragon Age,
ENOSTA, Grafan, Titan Quest, Age of Conan, Divine Divinity 2, Age of Pirates, Paradise, Heck, most of those adventure games,
HL2: Aftermath, Project Offset, Savage 2, Crysis, Alan Wake, TES: Oblivion, UT2007, Dreamfall...

Darnit! 22 games! Thats almost $1000 (~$45 each)!
I guess I'm gonna have to cut down that list a bit....  :P

Wow, I cannot wait for society! It looks so good(not graphically, but you know [hopefully] but the map!). I cannot believe they actually made an MMORTS! Seven Kingdoms might be good, too!

Dang I hate it when they do that, do they intentionally torture us in such ways?

I also checked out the Unreal Tournament 2007 website and I watched a gameplay video. It looks awsome, really amazing graphics! Epic never disappoints.
